It has always been in our development plan to produce at least 1 example of Maginot art. Today, we started to realise this ambition. The initial section of our museum offers a 1.1 Maginot experience to our visitors, so including the artwork was obviously required

Impacts on the GFM cloche on the roof of the Maginot casemate Marckolsheim sud. One of two CORF constructed casemates, located to the east of the village, these formed part of the third and principle line of defense along the Rhine valley. Here we see 3 impacts from 88mm rounds. The lowest remains live, although the fuse has been removed. The action was from operation little bear, with the casemate having the dubious 'honor' of being the only work of the Maginot ever visited by Hitler.

The casemate nord, no longer stands, having been demolished in the immediate post war era, whereas casemate sud is now fully restored and operated as a memorial museum.

End of the railway carriage at the armistice memorial museum. Not the original, as that was destroyed towards the end of ww2. All that remains of the original are some of the brass and some access rails (see to immediate left of the flags). The carriage presented today is one of the original batch produced for the railway from which the first carriage came from.

Look at it this way, we have seen your roof (in all its boxes) so not much to actually burn.
