Tonight was the #worldpremiere of #CabinPressure, a murder mystery written for dinner theater. ๐Ÿ—ก๏ธ It's an amazing feeling to have something you wrote brought to life. ๐Ÿ“ Thank you to everyone who supported a first time #playwright! ๐Ÿซถ

Could you provide the name of the book? I'd be interested in reading through it too. Thanks.

Definitely don't have the money ๐Ÿ˜… may need to reevaluate the idea. Thanks.

This is all very useful and adds a lot of context. Thanks a lot.

That's really helpful. Thank you.

Basically using a phrase from a line in a song. Something like "achy-break heart" or "Hello darkness my old friend."

I'm considering using it as a bit for a character like those "I speak fluent song lyrics" shirts. I wouldn't be taking sung dialogue from a musical and copy/pasting.

Is there any specific rule or copyright law that includes quotes from movies, nods to music lyrics, or references to brands?

Some in the play script I'm writing have explicitly called out quotes, while others are Easter eggs. #WritingTips #Writing #Playwright #WritingCommunity #WritingQ #ScriptSky

I didn't really know suburban horror was a genre but I'm definitely going to read this just for the cover! Looks like a real page-turner.

I need to play more Blood on the Clocktower. Finding time is difficult especially when a lot of games are happening for US timezones. #BotC #BloodOnTheClocktower

I'm getting to the point where I'm feeling overwhelmed with the work and personal things in addition to writing I want to do. I need more hours in the day. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

Day 20 / Final Day

Adding a final bonus book but both books share a theme.

This. I don't write to have something else dobthe writing for me. It's a vocation. I do it because I enjoy doing it.

Gen AI's pitch is: what if you didn't have to do that thing you live to do?

How is that a pitch?

I will use Grammerly to help with the 'is this dash used the right way' issues but most character dialogue is unique and isn't always grammatical. I want each character be expressed the way they are in my head, not the way AI thinks is most concise.

And I color-code my hand written notes too.

The best one in the series, by far.

It's also interesting that you named Penny but Neely is "the man." ๐Ÿค” Almost as if you perceive one of their lives to have more value than the other. Anyway...

This has been very enjoyable but it's clear you don't understand the differences between legal definitions. What you're describing is actually assault and probably murder, not manslaughter (which is typically accidental).

Go be a troll elsewhere. โœŒ๏ธ

If you ignored my question, it would be a red herring because you would be the one changing the direction of the conversation. It doesn't matter who bright it up first, it matters who is derailing the conversation.

I conceded that I missed your other comment so it is not a red herring.

And to be clear, my position isn't that intervention was completely unnecessary. However, the level of intervention and the death that resulted should be considered manslaughter and not excused by "self-defense" based on the exerpts I cited previously.

The legal definition of "self-defense" from the website law.com

Not a fallacy, actually. There is nothing remotely misleading about the way I presented it. Forgive me if the legal definition doesn't fit into 300 characters or less. Just because I included a portion, doesn't mean it's contextually inaccurate. I've included it in it's entirety for you anyway.

I retract my red herring remark. I see your response. โ˜บ๏ธ

Red herring. Nice try but you didn't answer my question.

I said "you're the one implying" not that you actually said it. However, it stands to reason if you're arguing with someone who "dont have a point," it would be a waste of time. I guess that's a subjective perspective though.

Why make it private? You're the one implying you were wasting your time? I'm truly unbothered, I'm enjoying the entertainment. ๐Ÿ˜…

Please explain to me how quoting legal precedent is a logical fallacy but you misrepresenting what happened/could have happened isn't a strawman fallacy? ๐Ÿค”
