Who could have imagined that a government of rapists, racists, coup plotters, conmen, tax dodgers, conspiracy fantasists and bullshit artists might not work very well?

The U.S Government is now owned by the fossil fuel industry to the extent that they are no longer seeking to slow the transition to a low carbon world, but are using all means to reverse progress.

I cannot overstate the existential threat these people pose to your children.

Is Rachel Reeves constrained by the City? Is the City really stopping Rachel Reeves from doing what Labour wants, or is she just using it as a convenient excuse for her neoliberal austerity? This is the audio version: This is the transc...

A narrative is recited almost everywhere: that Rachel Reeves is being "forced" to cut benefits, and is faced with "hard choices" or "no choice". This story, a staple of neoliberal doctrine, is completely false, as @richardjmurphy.bsky.social explains: www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/03...

1. One of capitalism’s greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that “there is no alternative”. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. 🧵

We should be shocked, humiliated and ashamed that 4.5 million children live in poverty in the UK and that Labour is planning to increase this number by conscious choice. Radical action is needed. No child deserves this. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/03...

I keep seeing the same common theme: the impossible standards placed on anyone advocating changes to our transport system. Question car dependency and you're expected to address every inequality and injustice at the same time; but support car dependency and you'll never be challenged on these issues

High pollution alert issued for London Londoners are asked to switch off vehicle engines when idling and to refrain from burning garden waste.

City Hall has issued a high pollution alert for London due to air pollution from mainland Europe.

I urge Londoners to look after themselves and protect those with conditions such as asthma. This includes refraining from engine idling and burning wood or garden waste.

It feels like a good time to be resharing this @newscientist.com primer, on what net zero actually means. Few years old but the basics stand👇
