The Yellow Horned moth
It's #MothFaceFriday which means it's time for one of the cutest moth faces there is...
The ewoch-mimicking Yellow Horned 🥹
Moths that look like sticks, dead leaves, or bird droppings are one thing. Moths with kitty cat ears are something else altogether! 🐱

Convolvulus Hawk-moth (Agrius convolvuli).
I just realised it's Friday, so for #MothFaceFriday, here's an unused photo of a Convolvulus Hawk-moth from last year. #teammoth
Side view of two moths, one much larger than the other. The larger moth has white wings with a pattern of black and red patches across them. It is facing a much smaller moth that is brown in colour. Zooming in shows that the much smaller moth has several patches of raised scales making it look quite spikey.
It's always nice to bump into a friend
This beautifully coloured Heliotrope Moth (Utetheisa pulchelloides) was sitting face to face with a very tiny and rather spikey looking Leptozestis sp. moth at our moth light recently.

Turnip Moth (Agrotis segetum).
A Turnip Moth for #MothFaceFriday. I didn't like the antennae on either of these shots, so they didn't make the cut last year. #teammoth

Clouded Drab (Orthosia incerta).
A Clouded Drab for #MothFaceFriday.
I caught a few LBAMs last night for the first time this year, but I was too lazy to take photos of them. It's been one of those weeks. In any case, they will soon be a constant sight in my garden. #teammoth
#mothfacefriday Yellow Horned, named because it has these erm, yellow horns. Not the most creative bunch the entomologists, especially when it comes to names 🙄
You talkin t’me?

Common Quaker (Orthosia cerasi).
A recent Common Quaker for #MothFaceFriday. This moth played dead so convincingly that I thought it was dead.
