We spotted this moth in March 2025.

Even though it's quite striking with those lovely white wing tufts, I haven't yet been able to ID it. So if anyone has any suggestions on what it might be... let me know

Here’s the Cycad Weevil (Tranes vigorsii) that the Pseudoscorpion hitched a lift with… you can just see it hanging onto the weevil’s back left leg.

The weevil seemed pretty unconcerned by his passenger.

Unexpected visitor at our moth light in the Perth Hills last night… a Pseudoscorpion (possibly Chernetini sp.)

This guy was small, only ~4mm long, and was hitching a lift on the back leg of a Cycad Weevil, a behaviour known as phoresis

A very cool find! I spotted this termite (Zootermopsis spp.) with a little springtail (Cheirotoma spp.) riding on its back. Apparently Cheirotoma are known hitchhikers on termites.

Of the flies I saw today, this one is my favourite. It's the ngaro tara or three-lined Hover Fly (*Helophilus seelandicus*), a New Zealand endemic species.

I like the sleek colour pattern. It would not look out of place on a coverable sports car.

I used to be very scared of spiders; nowadays I'm fine with most of them, and I actually love jumping spiders. They're just so cute. This little one (Phidippus johnsoni) checked me out while I was out doing photography the other day.
