SNL UK: cornball political cold open (an admittedly faithful US import), but a funny, scrappy debut. It was messy in a way that actually felt live, like early Saturday Night's rawer edge (I heard a few fucks and at least one "cunty"). Plus Wet Leg!

Four and a half stars out of five. "A stupendously well-crafted movie about how America creates problems that result in mass casualties and then, because it's shameless, looks for convoluted ways to solve these problems as if it didn't create them in the first place."

Sam Kieth has passed. There are so many great comics creators I love, but Sam is on my Mount Rushmore. The Maxx was a revelation when I first read it. What a sad loss. What a great creator. I will miss your light in this world intensely.
Sam Kieth did not bend for comics. Comics bent to him. I won't call his manner of drawing merely a style because that implies some level of artifice. Maybe not since Kirby had mainstream comics seen an artist with less filter between his imagination and the printed page.
