Where it Hurts Anthology from the editor of Intima
Contents page, including my poem “Newbie”
Spotted in the wild! / in my UK spring garden. Donna Bulseco, editor of the wonderful Intima selected my poem Newbie for this anthology- I can’t wait to dive in. Particularly thrilled to be next to a short story I really admired “Your First Paediatric Intubation” by Rachel Kowalsky.

Up like Icarus We walk our kite where others walk dogs; watch as its long tail races on ahead, wagging over awestruck buttercups. Then up – up like Icarus. Our eyes follow it like fools. Climb, until they burn and fall.
For #poemsabout #gravity, a poem about gravity ...
Thankyou!

Fab! ✈️ seems impossible doesn’t it- best not to think about it when up in the air!
I’m not sure is any other pop stars have been into space Men who blasted six women into space Don’t understand gravity Don’t know how it feels to push Against a boundary Don’t know roots reach down Don’t know the sensation Of being sealed in a capsule A Tupperware lip slurps As it loses its vacuum Song lost in endless blackness Turn to look at earth 🌍
Good morning #poemsabout
#gravity
The title is after a Katy Perry quote

Loved this- Ship Breakers of Bangladesh
magma Breaks from 2014
Lunch Menu for the Royal Party of George V at nearby Hickleton Hall on the Day after the Cadeby Mining Disaster 1912
Mistress, by Elizabeth Parker
Lovely poetry reading with Elizabeth Parker and Nicola Heaney with coffee and cake. My friend Bob had his first matcha, his face was a picture. Lizzie was having a clear out and had a table of journals and books she was giving away. I picked up a Magma from 2014 and have loved exploring the poems.
Hurrah! So glad #moth made it to Madrid and for this lovely summary @madridlitmag.bsky.social

I really enjoyed it! I love concrete images like that- the peel of the orange 🍊
A vast, dark blue space scene with a small astronaut floating alone in the distance near the curve of a massive planet. The scale emphasises isolation and insignificance. The Broken Spine logo appears in the top left, "@thebrokenspine.co.uk" in white at the top right, and bold white text at the bottom reads: "Read Repost Reply #POEMSABOUT #GRAVITY".
What holds you in place? What pulls you under?
#PoemsAbout #Gravity — write the force you can’t escape.
Love this! 🍊
