Census - St. Louis Genealogical Society Census records are the framework of your family history puzzle. The federal census is taken every ten years in years ending with zero. The first Missouri federal census was taken in 1830, the first fe...

The Society's Census page stlgs.org/research-2/g... has been updated to include links to the recently found St. Louis City & County census images from 1840, 1845, 1847, 1849, 1850-51, 1852-53, 1856, and 1857. The society has started to index these censuses and should be completed later this year.
