Louisiana is rolling back legal safeguards for death row prisoners, limiting appeals and making it harder to challenge convictions. The changes will “make it much, much harder for lawyers for people on death row to keep them out of the execution chamber.”

This project is special to me because it was one I wanted to do as editor-in-chief of The Reveille. We put in several public records requests, but right when we did, LSU decided it would start charging student media for records again and we couldn’t afford to continue investigating.
