Happy #BookBirthday to ONCE UPON A TAIL by Audrey Perrott, illus. by me!
Am very happy with this book as it is the first, published, (junior) graphic novel I've worked on. Which means I (finally) get to call myself a published comic book artist!

Last day for this! #kidlit

I suppose. Would've thought there would be easier ways to milk that lot though instead of wasting loads of paper.
Also... I was under the impression the audience most interested in these people aren't exactly the kind of folks who want to (or can) read books? Or would want to spend their money on literary pursuits?π€·
Well, that's one imprint I'm definitely never doing work for (not that they'd even approach me, probably).
Read it? Swap it out! Bring your new and gently used Children's books to trade with others. For every book you bring, you can pick a free one.
Plan to attend this Friday, April 17, from 10-11am at Locke Branch for the Kids' Book Swap. events.hpl.ca/event/15630813

Ok I like Hawaiian pizza but not THAT much π
I loved it as a kid, then hated it for years, now love it again lol
I like that my library system has a seed library.
Although my husband asked 'how does one borrow a seed'... I'm assuming it's a permanent 'borrow' π
Pretty sure I used to have it with chicken ham when growing up.
They wanted to make sure as many people could eat it, which in Singapore meant not using pork as much as possible.
Ah yeah, I mean, that's like those fancy stilettos. They're meant to be seen, and if you can afford them, you shouldn't be doing something as plebian as walking, good heavens π
I kinda thought people mostly kept their 'good' sneakers in a closet or some sort of showcase. They're not actually meant for walking around in, are they?
Hawaiian pizza is nice, actually ππ

unicorn with purple mane, green tail and nose, purple and green striped horn, yellow and pink hooves, and purple, yellow, and pink stars in a line from neck to back, jumping from right to left over a big book. "Unicorn" with a star dotting the letter i on the spine, and a unicorn on the cover

A very small green goblin is riding a unicorn with a giant mane of hot pink hair. The unicorn's mane is constantly flying into the little goblin's face, but she's still having a good time.
It's #NationalUnicornDay! π¦

Yea. I mean, it makes me think many things, some more fact some more conjecture. You know know how it is.
I have been told that it is bad to be cynical and suspicious of things, and maybe that's true... but sometimes it comes in handy (unfortunately) π
I guess it's fine if you're the kind of person that can attract lots of fans and attention, or have deep enough pockets to manifest that anyway.
Otherwise welp. Good luck, I guess there's always luck.
The short answer is - money
I did check out their website (didn't read the article till now).
IDK if it's dangerous, but I can tell you it exists and its a boring site that you might expect from a small and shady school (there are real private 'academies' that are kinda sus). The G maps points to a industrial company tho.
Sigh, the relentless BS on my career continues. I got a scam email from Crown Forge Academy, which sounded maybe legit?
And it's only my paranoia and some Google-fu that caught it for what is really is (thx @hireillo.com )
I think we need more words to describe these feelings because 'sigh' is just not enough.
I don't see how it would be a win if it's was a replacement either, considering who would be the likely replacement and the kinds of things that person might work on.
Publishing is contracting in ways that are... not good, if you are not a particular demopgraphic.
I suppose it depends on how you define get through.
Will I be alive when this mess ends? Odds are I will.
Will I be in a decent shape (at multiple levels) to continue moving forward once things improve? I don't know.
How much battering can one take till one breaks?
