Prepositions in Norwegian are hard bcs prepositions, but I also seem to really struggle with the equivalents of expressions like English "however", "nevertheless", "furthermore", "despite", "in contrast to" etc. -- I can't ever remembers what the words for them are #linguistics

The mantra that AI is "just maths" not only ignores the materiality (humans have to mine rare earth minerals) but also the political & human harms like fascism and indentured labour.

I'm thinking of something like using school cohorts to understand sign language development because of the observation that younger students behave differently from older ones, and then later on the motivation for other studies is something like, this is how it's done in our field

Is there a name for when a method that was originally linked to natural phenomenon takes on a life of its own in the history of disciplines? Specifically that the motivation for using is that it's been used elsewhere?
