YIKES!!! 🚨 Breaking news at Queens Park
FYI re: FOI
Ford just scheduled a late-night sitting to ram through a law that would permanently hide his phone records, while under RCMP investigation. The NDP are staying up all night to fight it.

Today is Earth Day, but each year it can feel a little more like Groundhog Day.
While we replay the same pipeline debates in Canada, the rest of the world is racing ahead on renewable energy — which is growing so fast that it met all new electricity demand in 2025.

Oh my god. The success of the housing accelerator fund depended on the federal government holding municipalities to their word.
Gregor Robertson has singlehandedly destroyed this policy initiatives if this is true.

‼️Fact‼️
Premier Ford's government increased provincial net debt by over 30% in his first seven years, a 44-per-cent increase since taking office.
Alberta's 17th Premier @rachelnotley.bsky.social published an excellent op-ed in the Globe and Mail about how the UCP is putting democracy at risk with their attempt to rig the election.
It is well worth the read:

A network of 20 inauthentic YouTube accounts has racked up nearly 40 million views by peddling lies, grievance, division and narratives normalizing the prospect of Alberta’s secession and annexation by the United States. @charlesrusnell.bsky.social reports. #abpoli
The pandemic is ongoing, it continues, it’s NOW. Everyone remains vulnerable to the harms of COVID. We’re past only the initial acute stage of the pandemic. We likely still await the population-wide long term effects—tragically.

Public health's cost-benefit model for COVID vaccines in Canada 👉forgot to include the fact that you can get #longCOVID without seeking medical care for the acute COVID👈, so it assumes *total* annual COVID incidence is 7.5%.
This is why it's not covered.
These are not remotely serious people.

This is the closest I think I’ve seen and heard Carney come to Harper’s delivery and ideas, down to the idea that “our” ancestors faced an “inhospitable land” when they arrived.

Done and done. If you support universal healthcare please voice your concerns. 👇🏼
A screengrab from a youtube video. Mark Carney is seen in profile with the words "FORWARD GUIDANCE WITH PRIME MINISTER MARK CARNEY" layered over.
The PM is calling his new regular updates 'Forward Guidance'. Is that supposed to be cute?
For anyone who doesn't know, that's pure central bank language. Central banks use forward guidance to provide info about monetary policy directions.
Do we really need a central bank glossary?

And point out the reason provinces don't order enough vaccines is that they're using an economic model from PHAC that 👉forgot to include the fact that you can get #longCOVID without needing medical attention for the initial COVID infection👈.
Health policy is sloppier than a hat made out of Jell-O.
Smarmy.

This pro-infection article was written during the worst wave for young kids. In January 2022, nearly 1,000 were being hospitalized and 6 were drying daily.
If you think Doug Ford using taxpayer funds to buy his private jet is unrelated to his trying to have jets fly from Toronto's Island Airport, I've got a failed private waterfront spa at Ontario Place, a shuttered Science Centre, and a tunnel under the 401 to sell you.

NEW: @policornerca.bsky.social revealed that Tina Yazdani, a critical reporter covering Ontario politics, was fired from CityNews, two of her stories removed from their site w/o explanation. Then, a lawsuit claims Thomson Reuters fired an employee for speaking out against their ICE collab. It's bad.

Today, the Liberals rejected our NDP motion to ban surveillance pricing - a dystopian practice that will drive up costs for Canadians if we allow it to take root.
The NDP is the only party fighting to protect you from getting ripped off at the checkout.

It's interesting to me that a story about online rape networks doesn't seem to have broken through?
The story's inception was instigated in part by Gisèle Pelicot's rapes. Her husband drugged and and raped her and then invited dozens of other men to rape her while she was drugged.
The collapse of the gulf stream will be catastrophic for the entire planet. The crisis in the earth's circulation system continues to be ignored while politicians promote massive oil/gas expansion.

Ukraine's supply of U.S.-produced Patriot air defense missiles is facing a critical shortage, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with German ZDF published on April 14.
apparently @societyforepi.bsky.social selected one of these doctors (ioannidis) to deliver their conference keynote this year. it's disturbing that legitimate public health organizations are STILL platforming people who spread deadly misinformation. hopefully they will read this and rethink
