Can anyone recommend any good books for a teenager who has just had an ASD diagnosis? She is academically quite able and doesn’t want “ones for kids”…

It’s an interesting point, I have found that some disadvantaged pupils do better with NEA work because of the supportive school environment which they can’t get when revising at home - but I totally take your point too and think we need to review the lot, properly!

We really do get the most beautiful sunrises here!

I agree in part, but how do we make exams more purposeful and less stressful - it’s all or nothing on a particular day in May/June for some kids…regardless of what happened the night/week /months before. Our system should be looking for real change not tinkering the details

Day 2 of an inspection and at 9am the snow starts to fall! Every teacher had the same bemused look!!!

Spreadsheets this week across key stage 3, data collection and data handling is so important today for our young people! Budgeting, graphs, and even some data collection of their own!

We did but then went back to in person…I’d like to see year 7-9 online and then a different format for exam years… not sure what exactly but something!

Year 9 parents evening tonight, 2 hours in a busy, warm room with 4 min appointments to discuss progress… not totally sure parents evenings like this do what they should, but this seems to be a very common model in secondary schools!
