I woke up thinking how I might continue to center hope, continue to move towards liberation. While I’m not sure of the answers I do know that we are in this together.

Join the social work activist collective in Jan 30th to begin to build together.

Turned in my grades on Monday (yay!) and got a chest infection Wednesday (boo!). I’ve trained my body well in “holding on” and then paying the price. #disabled #academicchatter #disabilityvisibility

Ask your librarian. I’ve been told 30% or one chapter. But, you can put it on reserve and they can include the whole thing - just ask them to scan it for you.

Two cats and a dog laying on top of me on the couch. The small gray Tabby cat is cuddling the larger Tortoie with his arm across her. She is wearing a festive green collar with a gingerbread man. The dog is wearing a snoopy sweater that says happy holidays.

As we prepare for a new year and new challenges with the political and social landscape, I thought I'd share this paper I wrote a few years ago. Working for social justice is about more than self-care.

Y’all gotta include the decolonizing social work podcast, too! The episode on white supremacy culture and the one on mutual aid.

I will share it with you!

I’m at this very moment, redesigning our community practice course! It will be a bit different than yours but I want to recommend including anything from Kai Chang Thom if you’re going to talk about Community care. And I vote to have them read chapters from all the books!

Do people still write blogs? Do people still read blogs? Should I start a blog?

Congrats! Please come to SSW. Admin is looking for “training” - I did recommend they reach out to CDS but I don’t think it went anywhere.

Screenshot of a comment on a Google document. The comment reads “check APA for how to do this part. When I when I do it, I do something like this: Samimi et all., (2024) determined that there are three kinds of cats: 1) cute cats, which are mostly harmless and like to show off, 2) mean cats, which are cats that claw bite, and 3) sassy cats, who always have an attitude (Garfield is one example.)

I try to make my feedback worth reading.
