True- but I don't think that there's a pervasive debate society culture that makes us uniquely bad at moderating workshops. I don't notice much difference between ones in the UK and ones in Scandinavia- regardless of language or discipline. So much depends on whether participants are there to engage
I suppose the Oxbridge ones are famous, but outside of that not so maybe not so much? It wasn't a thing in the state schools I went to in Glasgow.
