before it was over, I technically missed the birth, but who cares. Those minutes I wasn't in the room were the most terrifying of my life.

I can only imagine how much worse it would have been to be anywhere else other than a hospital, potentially with life shattering consequences.

Having seen up close and personal, how a birth can go from "everything's normal and proceeding apace(and way better than the last time)" to:
Serious Complication and less than 15 minutes later your baby is born via emergency c-section then mom and baby are both fine.

I didn't have time to gown up

Bruh, has it not already been long enough since a Canadian team won?

For decades, government has chipped away at the public service. Now you wait on hold for hours hoping to speak to someone who can help only to get disconnected.
Instead of fixing this problem, this government is making it worse.

Call a Member Of Parliament's constituency office number or try 1800 - 0-Canada and ask for guidance and go from there.

That's a very generic suggestion, I don't know where you are in that process.

This is what they get taught:
Make everyone think it's the government's fault and not the oil companies and the billionaires controlling them that are profiteering off Canadian consumers.

That way their narrative gets served in two ways

If true, can you blame her?

No worries, just a lot of people have a weird fixation

I agree because it'll make a lot of people have a nutty and meltdown.

I don't know why everyone feels the need to care about anything but the politics they're engaged in.

You know there's a pretty good chance this was staff work right?

Doesn't in any way diminish it, just lets him have his social media and Coachella too.

There's a really good chance that he has help to handle his social media?

So then why did he unfreeze billions in Iranians assets?

I've never been a big fan of "the war on drugs" (too big a waste of resources for what it doesn't accomplish)

But, I'm starting to think there should be one on the drugs Trump is taking, because the Cheeto King of Chaos is danger to all.

Sadly they didn't have any rooms available. That cinema is also in the process of getting half demolished for an apartment building to get built.

We also didn't have any other weekends we were available to make it happen.

That turned into a 9hr long bday party.

Past job experience came in handy

Thanks, yeah there's savings out there to be had, but it takes effort.

Also, not having the party room and staff person obviously made things more chaotic.

But we were 4 adults with 12 kids in tow and the kids got to play for an hour in the arcade too

Of course they will, so we took the regular screening. Plus being with a large group of kids some might not like the 3D or intense sounds.

What was funny was ordering 16 tickets online and all I had to pay was the $4.60 service fee for booking online. Plus we picked our seats first

It's my son's 7th birthday party with friends today. We're all going to see the new Super Mario Movie and thanks to tickets from Costco Canada it's costing us half price because of the savings on food and drink.

This spring is the year of the garage, we've been here 5 years and finally in a space where it can be tackled.

...also there's a pallet of election stakes (for big signs) to relocate.

It's nice feeling productive before 9am.
Got the shelves built and bins stacked. Now the camping gear and holiday decorations are way more accessible and the wooden shelves (not pictured) now have space to get the rest of the crap off the floor!

I think Carney probably likes that she's an engineer who worked for 20 yrs for Dow Chemical and likely doesn't give 2 shits about the other stuff.

As an NDP'er I'm cool with getting the assist on the narrative that Carney is to the right.

But seriously, like WTF.

Ok, so she's cordial to others in the bubble seems to be the main selling point.

Make ‘em dumb, sell ‘em smarts Sam Altman wants intelligence to be a utility that you pay him for

Sam Altman has a new plan to make money from generative AI: he wants intelligence to be treated like water or electricity — and we’ll all have to pay him for it.

His chatbots are degrading people’s ability to retain information and think critically. Now he wants to sell smarts back to us.
