Day 200 of asking Mojang to let items sit on shelves in survival!

Brush your shelves!
For day 200 I'm (finally) releasing my Shelved Data Pack, which allows you to change how items are displayed on shelves by using a brush on them.

The little-known musical comedy Galavant. The music was amazing, having been co-composed by Alan Menken. The writing and jokes are on-point and never missed for me. It ended on a good note, but it had so much untapped potential.

It's the only show Ive ever found myself returning to to rewatch.

If Sherma has 1 million fans I'm one of them. If Sherma has 5 fans, I'm one of them. If Sherma has 1 fan, that one is me. If Sherma has no fans, then I am no longer alive. If the world is against Sherma, then I am against the world. Till my last breath, I'll support Sherma.

"Millions of years ago the Grow deer looked quite different, its ancestors were the ough deer, residing in the wet, dark forests of what is now the eastern savannahs.
When the ice age lifted a new warm period began and the ough deer had to adapt. As you might know, the grow deer possesses one of the longest tongues in the animal kingdom, reaching up to 2 meters long. It uses this long tongue to access high shrubs as well as low grasses that its horns prevent it from accessing.
Between the long horns of the Grow deer, you will almost always find a special creature that spends its whole life following the deer around. It's the coronated hornspider.

When Grow deer reach around 5 months of age, at the end of its nursing period, its mother will reach her horns down to the calf, allowing the coronated hornspider to hop over and lay its eggs in the grooves of the calf's budding horns. When the spiderlings hatch they canibalize each other, leaving only one spider left. Using its siblings for nutrients, the spider spins a thick web between the horns where it lives for many years.
This relationship between the spider and the deer is not one sided however. The web both collecs the flies that get attracted to the deer's smell. But also collects dew droplets that flow down the web and into the central grooves of the horns which the deer licks up with its long tongue. The spider is also one of the most venomous insects in the world, acting as a deterent for other carnivorous creatures to attack the Grow deer. The spider is known to be agressive, but due to the deer's pheromones the spider knows not to bite the host.
This ends up being one of the most interesting symbiotic relationships between two species in the animal kingdom. You can learn more about symbiotic relationships on page 205."

Another amazing #MCartDay!

I participated in a modeling challenge with some fellow Minecraft artists where we made animals based on some traits. The ones I got were:

Mammal | Herbivore | Spines | Nocturnal | Long/Tall

Which I turned into the beautiful "Ough Deer"

It's been over a year since the last update for the pack released, and I'd love to return to it someday. It's been a journey, and I've met a lot of excellent people and fostered an awesome community while doing it.

Maybe before the eigth anniversary we'll see a new update?

Skeletal of a triceratops.

The skeletal models are always a lot of fun to create, but as-per Dinos & Dodos' design philosophy, they attempt to remain as accurate to the actual dinosaurs as possible! (Fun Fact: The ankylosaurus has the proper placement of osteoderms, based on the Arbour VM and Mallon JC. 2017 paper.)

It's officially Dinos & Dodos' seventh anniversary! There's nothing new to show; all of these are renders which have been posted in the official discord's dev-log channel. But, to celebrate, have some of the most intensive models I've made.

An infographic showcasing how Dinos & Dodos' Ankylosaurus model has evolved over the years.

The Ankylosaurus is one of the oldest and longest-standing dinosaurs in Dinos & Dodos.

Added in Beta 2.0, which released in July of 2019. They've seen the most model iterations of any other dinosaur in the data pack.

As we approach Dinos & Dodos seventh anniversary, I guess I'll post some of the more recent models from the project.

Might post some reflections to look back at how these models have evolved over time.

Been rethinking Mysenvar's map. The previous was quite antiquated compared to the rest of the setting. This isn't quite there yet, but I'm toying with the idea of a crescent moon style layout, with the new world being the outside.

Rift Beetles: Beetle-like blue monsters. Their limbs end in human-esq hands, their torso is a gaping maw, and their head resembles a horse skull.

The design is inspired most by the likes of the Nowhere King (Centaur World) and Xenomorphs (Alien).
