Such an exciting moment for science! Total solar eclipses are such awesome views, it’s so amazing they had close to an hour to observe this one!

NASA’s Artemis II crew experience total solar eclipse from space From the perspective of the Orion capsule, the moon will fully block the sun’s disk for nearly an hour

The crew of Artemis II is experiencing a total solar eclipse RIGHT NOW from just a few thousand miles above the lunar surface. Here's why it's cool and what they could see πŸ§ͺ πŸ”

NASA Scientific Visualization Studio | Simulating the Artemis II Lunar Flyby on April 6, 2026 This visualization simulates what the crew of Artemis II will see out the window on the day of their closest approach to the Moon on April 6, 2026. It covers the period of their scheduled science observations that begins at 18:45 UTC and spans seven hours, flying the virtual camera on the actual post-TLI trajectory that swings the spacecraft around the Moon's far side.

For a sneak peek of today's Earthrise moment: Ernie Wright just published a visualization of today's Artemis II Lunar flyby: svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5633/ #artemisii #nasa

If you’re watching the #Artemis II livestream you’re probably hearing the word β€œalbedo” a lot, but what does it mean?
It’s simply a measure of how reflective a surface is. If a surface absorbs all incoming radiation it has an albedo of 0, if it reflects all of it albedo is 1 (1/n) πŸ§ͺπŸ”

Reid Wiseman on #Artemis II: "We have Earth out window 4 and Moon out window 3... the Moon is about 3-4 times the size of the Earth and it is almost full, and the Earth is just a small crescent out there... it's magnificent... such a majestic view out here"

Mission Control: "Amaze, amaze, amaze!"

🌟Heads up, Aurora Watchers, tonight could be an exciting event!

Yesterday's CME associated with the X1.9 flare is headed our way. Estimated to reach us starting 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. CT.

⚠️Meaning aurora may be observed starting at that time, even on the horizon in the lower U.S.

🌟 Storm update: The CME hit Earth at ~2:38 a.m. ET, driving G4 (severe) geomagnetic storm levels. If it’s dark where you are, look northβ€”auroras may be visible far south of usual. Happy hunting! 🌌
