The Artemis astronauts and ISS astronauts just talked to each other over the feed in space and that immediately shifted my mood so maybe it will help you too!
New over here so introducing myself with some commentary on Artemis II!
Such an exciting moment for science! Total solar eclipses are such awesome views, itβs so amazing they had close to an hour to observe this one!
The crew of Artemis II is experiencing a total solar eclipse RIGHT NOW from just a few thousand miles above the lunar surface. Here's why it's cool and what they could see π§ͺ π
Kelsey is the best! So exciting to see and hear this!
For a sneak peek of today's Earthrise moment: Ernie Wright just published a visualization of today's Artemis II Lunar flyby: svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5633/ #artemisii #nasa
The more I look at the moon the browner and browner it looksβ
Yup. The Moon is brown.

If youβre watching the #Artemis II livestream youβre probably hearing the word βalbedoβ a lot, but what does it mean?
Itβs simply a measure of how reflective a surface is. If a surface absorbs all incoming radiation it has an albedo of 0, if it reflects all of it albedo is 1 (1/n) π§ͺπ
Reid Wiseman on #Artemis II: "We have Earth out window 4 and Moon out window 3... the Moon is about 3-4 times the size of the Earth and it is almost full, and the Earth is just a small crescent out there... it's magnificent... such a majestic view out here"
Mission Control: "Amaze, amaze, amaze!"
If you're following along today for the #ArtemisII flyby, here's some notes on what to expect. π§ͺπππ

πHeads up, Aurora Watchers, tonight could be an exciting event!
Yesterday's CME associated with the X1.9 flare is headed our way. Estimated to reach us starting 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. CT.
β οΈMeaning aurora may be observed starting at that time, even on the horizon in the lower U.S.

π Storm update: The CME hit Earth at ~2:38 a.m. ET, driving G4 (severe) geomagnetic storm levels. If itβs dark where you are, look northβauroras may be visible far south of usual. Happy hunting! π
