Yeah, a fly. I think the common name is Drain flies.

Health competition rather than over zealous madness I'm sure ๐ค
11/8 from a wet & windy Cromford last night. Nothing nfy but I'm pretty sure Early Tooth-striped is nfg. #TeamMoth
Ooh, more nice stuff that I've missed. YOU ARE BACK ๐
Another nice find there. Are we destined to see loads of early stage stuff then ๐ค ๐
Good stuff Steve. I was actually looking for that yesterday ๐
I found a couple of these larvae in the garden today between spun leaves of Greater Willowherb. I did consider Celypha lacunana but Clepsis spectrana has been muted, and seems a decent bet? #TeamMoth
Probably not identifiable from these pics, but any suggestions?
Fantastic! Certainly hold on to that friend ๐
Nice to see the masculella, which is a lot more contrasty than the Incurvaria pectinea I had recently ๐
Nice ๐
Great Prominent hasn't really made it to VC57 yet (unless you're @willowglass12.bsky.social ). There's more chance of Nut-tree locally, if I can get out somewhere suitable.
๐ Patience dear boy.
Some fine mothery there Dave.
Great Prom and Nut-tree
2 lifers for me there Clare, and all 3 would be nfg. Lovely pics.
Yeah so I see. Doubtless a lot more common than records suggest.
Nice one. I assume the brighter one in a male.
Fairly acceptable by my standards ๐
They didn't want to stay still and I wanted a pic of the different sexes.
Male
Female
Incurvaria pectinea, male and female from Bow Wood last night. Very reluctant to be photographed! #TeamMoth
Cheers, Simon
Ooh, nice ๐
Thanks Les
Good stuff Dave.
๐
Good numbers there mate.
Great numbers Tim ๐
Thanks
Yeah, photos can appear so different (well mine can at least ๐). I've not seen either before but apparently masculella is a lot more contrasting.
Herald
Fairly quiet from the garden trap last night. The best was this Herald, with E postvittana nfy. #TeamMoth
