I’m sure people are going to find an excuse to say Cory Booker is like, so totally amazing, but they’ll be wrong

I love that he was terrified and he still spoke. His voice trembled, and he still spoke. His classmates saw him, and they supported him.

Fear is not an excuse. And we can’t leave people standing alone. Now give this baby his papers!

I asked Wendy if I could read the paper she turned in, and when I opened the document, I was surprised to see the topic: critical pedagogy, the philosophy of education pioneered by Paulo Freire. The philosophy examines the influence of social and political forces on learning and classroom dynamics. Her opening line: “To what extent is schooling hindering students’ cognitive ability to think critically?” Later, I asked Wendy if she recognized the irony in using AI to write not just a paper on critical pedagogy but one that argues learning is what “makes us truly human.” She wasn’t sure what to make of the question. “I use AI a lot. Like, every day,” she said. “And I do believe it could take away that critical-thinking part. But it’s just — now that we rely on it, we can’t really imagine living without it.”

Everyone Is Cheating Their Way Through College ChatGPT has unraveled the entire academic project.

“Massive numbers of students are going to emerge from university with degrees, and into the workforce, who are essentially illiterate…Both in the literal sense and in the sense of being historically illiterate and having no knowledge of their own culture, much less anyone else’s.”

when you people jumped at the opportunity to allow the government into women's wombs, you started chipping away at privacy rights. again. when you vote to hurt others, you hurt yourself.

The FDA was literally created because in the 1880s, milk sellers were thinning milk with chalk, cow brains, and formaldehyde to make more money. Like milk specifically was a main driving force behind the creation of the FDA.

Maternal deaths drop — except for Black women New CDC data: There are 3x more pregnancy-related deaths of Black mothers than white mothers.

It's #BlackMaternalHealthWeek‼️ Did you know that maternal mortality has dropped for most women except Black women?

Women already face physical, emotional, and financial stress during pregnancy. Racial inequality just makes that stress much worse and potentially FATAL. This is #TheDoubleTax.

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

What Cory Booker is doing is so impressive, because he isn't just talking to talk. It is all about something and he is talking about what matters: THIS ISN'T NORMAL!! And we shouldn't act like it is. 👏🏾

Cory Booker has just broken Strom Thurmond's record for longest Senate filibuster ever, which stood for 68 years.

Thurmond set it objecting to the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

Booker set it arguing against authoritarianism.

May Strom's name be forgotten and his memory erased.
