Despite Black women starting businesses at higher rates than other groups, in 2019, Black women's businesses made nearly $120,000 less than all women's businesses on average.

One major factor driving rising Black unemployment is rising Black women's unemployment.
If Black women already face barriers in the workplace because of racism and sexism #TheDoubleTax, then policy choices that make these conditions worse will lead to worse outcomes for Black women. 🤷🏿♀️

I cannot get over the fact that Black COLLEGE EDUCATED women were hit hardest by the federal job losses.
One thing I learned while writing #TheDoubleTax is that the labor market undervalues Black women off rip. It is WILD.
In Dr. Valerie Wilson, we trust.
TLDR: The job losses among Black women in 2025 were mostly driven by federal layoffs and buyouts. While there were gains in some private industries, Black women saw net job losses in 6 out of the 12 MAJOR private sector industries.

The adultification of girls really begins with Black girls.
Calling a Black girl grown or fast or whatever as quickly evolves into "underage women" for white girls. This is #TheDoubleTax.
