Which leads us to our complementary color scheme, or the colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel. Honestly this feels like the safest color combination because pink and green always go together. Every flower needs its stems and leaves, amiright? #quilt

If we go a bit outside of the monochromatic box, we get to an analogous color selection. Remember that analogous means that they sit next to each other on the color wheel. For this fabric that means purple and red or pushing it farther to orange go either side of pink. It's adventurous! #quilt

I picked this colorway because it has plenty of shades, but not a huge variety of colors. All the pinks in the colorway lean towards cool. You see those beautiful big pink roses and go "I'm gonna make a pink quilt today and use ALL THE PINKS!" Which is how you get this monochromatic color pull.

I find that when you work with big prints, you sort of default to using the colors that you find directly in the fabric. But there's plenty of fabric in the world to give us more options! So let's take a look at Love in Bloom in the Lavendula colorway (Heart Nouveau) and see what we can do. #quilt
