Tlingit coin armor in the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography consisting of a skin shirt covered with threaded rows of Qing Dynasty Chinese coins.

Periodic reminder that in the 1600s and 1700s, Russian traders in Alaska introduced the Tlingit to Qing coins which became a valued regional trade good. The Tlingit began integrating them into body armor which I think is pretty awesome.
