It’s really funny that he came to the Supreme Court argument but then went “this is boring” and left
Added some info on my concert pieces. More music to be added soon. www.brandonmooremusic.com/concertworks
Finally! The first Arthur B. Rubinstein album in about six years, deserves at least five of these volumes! Here’s a couple of unique telefilm works, the early “The Prince of Central Park” from 1977 and the unsold pilot for “Rivkin: Bounty Hunter” from 1981. buysoundtrax.myshopify.com/products/the...
I’m at Akhenaten at the LA Opera and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you literally EVERYONE is here except Timothée Chalamet
The Boston Symphony Orchestra announced that Andris Nelsons’s tenure as music director will end at the close of the 2027 Tanglewood season.
#NowSpinning Glazunov Symphony No.4 with Otaka in Wales. The opening cor anglais solo is to die for. This is a stunning symphony whichever way you look at it. Rimsky-Korsakov conducted the premiere and described the work as ‘marvellous, noble, expressive’. How nice!
Absolutely astounding that the City of Dallas is truly considering tearing down iconic City Hall, designed by I.M. Pei, so they can give the land to a Trump supporter who will build a casino.
Much more serious things happening in the world, obvi, but if you live in the DFW region, Dallas is taking a vote on March 4 to decide the future of one of the most important pieces of 20th century architecture, IM Pei's city hall building. Contact the city council and urge preservation.

The history of Hollywood's Golden Age is linked with the story of Europeans fleeing the rise of fascism in the 1930s. This is especially true for some of the film composers of that era. None more so than the great Franz Waxman, whose birthday we celebrate today (1906-1967).

A loving parody of a 1984 Fleer baseball card featuring This Is Spinal Tap documentarian Marty DiBergi, played by the late great Rob Reiner. Includes a team logo spoofing a volume knob turned to 11.

On this date in 1895, Gustav Mahler's 2nd Symphony was premiered by the Philharmonic. Unlike many Mahler premieres, this one was highly-successful. His disciple Bruno Walter would later maintain that "this concert marked the beginning of Mahler's public career as a composer."
#NowSpinning Neeme Järvi’s Shostakovich Symphony No.13, from Gothenburg. For some reason I stopped at 12 in the series, so we’re going to move on. I’ve loved the cycles so far, but more so the Chandos discs. Ears and mind open, then!
#NowSpinning Bartók’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta in a gigantic, imposing performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Rafael Kubelik. I know the critics didn’t like his Chicago work, but boy do I like this performance!

A trip of a lifetime.
I think he had a bit part on The Crown series.
"Before the lifetime of adventure came the adventure of a lifetime."
So went the tagline for YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES, which premiered 40 years ago, on December 4, 1985.
Celebrate with us:
On the left, a narrow, glass-fronted display case with a mix of letterpress, hand-bound, antiquarian, and collectors' books; stretching off to the right, 8-foot bookcases laden with literary and contemporary commercial fiction, about one thousand books out of the 6-7 thousand in that section. LED lighting and light-colored wood cases and flooring keep the room feeling relatively spacious despite the sheer quantity of books.
Communities need used-book shops.
As the trends in our world are increasingly standardized and entrenched by "predictive" technologies that stifle innovation and reduce human actions into economic categories...
We need a full range of possibilities for readers and communities to explore and share.
I remember seeing this at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood and they had made a large interactive 3D game room in the back.

Lee Thompson. This limited edition 2-CD set marks the 40th Anniversary of the film and its brilliant score, which has been meticulously restored, re-edited and re-mastered to shine like never before! Bold, rousing and propulsive, Jerry Goldsmith’s original KING SOLOMON’S MINES score is an orchestral wonder in the grand cinematic adventure tradition. Heroics, romance, high-stakes drama and suspense – Goldsmith delivers big on all of it, all the while retaining his unique artistry and flourish. Previous CD releases of this score have presented the music out of pitch – either too fast or too slow. This reissue finally corrects the issue, presenting the music in perfect pitch on disc for the very first time. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Mike Matessino, this reissue boasts positively revelatory sound, with Disc One featuring the film’s “Score Presentation,” painstakingly edited to match the takes, where available, selected by Goldsmith and music editor Ken Hall, and Disc Two containing the “Original Soundtrack Album” and “Additional Tracks.” The “Score Presentation” and “Additional Tracks” were sourced from new high-res stereo tape transfers and the “Original Soundtrack Album” was sourced from the original ¼” stereo tapes prepared by Mike-Ross Trevor, also newly transferred in high-res for this release. Limited to 1000 units, this special release includes exclusive liner notes by writer Jeff Bond and cracking art direction by Scott Saslow, featuring a reversible cover with alternate art!

The most iconic of all Doctor Who pics: Verity Lambert, the show's first producer, uses the flamethrower of the robotic baddies, the Mechanoids, to light her cigarette.
Happy Doctor Who day! To celebrate here is the greatest of Doctor Who images: Verity Lambert using a Mechanoid as a lighter.
HOUSE OF KARMA Cast and Crew screening.
Dear Netflix,
Both of these photos are from The Karate Kid Part III.
I envision this just becoming the empty pool bed full of skeletons from Poltergeist
Love this!
There’s a special symmetry to this anniversary event with the original cast of YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES. The film is 40 years old and Bruce Broughton is 80 years young. The cast received a lovely video message from Bruce congratulating them and José (Quartet Records) sent 💿. The score is a true classic
