- Keep plugins at a minimum (95% of plugins are made for people who can't code new functionalities in "functions.php" themselves).

It officially happened. Jetpack, which is a part of Wordpress, basically killed off stats for websites that are "commercial". Which, I mean I guess it does cost them some money to track that stuff for me, but they also want $76 a month now. I've been paying $0 since 2007.
