A cold but calm high tide at Montrose basin this morning. Gentle lapping of waves against the shore, no waders, apart from a couple of oyster catchers on the roof of Aldi.

Down at Montrose beach. Drama out to sea. 5 swallows just raced past us along the front. First ones this year for us...

A female house sparrow here, on the gutter next to the hole in the wall at the side of the flat roof, where we think they have a nest under the roof 🙂

A very reflective dead calm and surprisingly cold Montrose basin this morning. Soft calling sounds of 4 very small ducks in the water, broken by a very vocal oyster catcher on the station roof behind us.

A calm quiet high tide at Montrose basin. Not much happening at all at this end of the basin. Distant twee-wee-weet of a reed bunting way over to the right in the scrub land.

Other than that, it is a fabulous photo.

A cold, clear rising tide at Montrose basin, most little waders have been pushed to the silt bank towards the middle, apart from a couple of curlews and some oyster catchers.

A menacing sky at Montrose basin this morning. Cold with a light breeze. Not sure if the tide's coming in or out. Flickering flash of wings as flocks of small waders race past, skimming the water.

I bet if they land again in the future and the Fanta Fuhrer is still alive (I doubt it) he"ll want to claim it for the US and say they should have done it last time🙄

A bitterly cold morning at Montrose basin. Fresh snow on the Angus glens overnight, lots of little waders braving the temperature to find food at the outgoing tide.
