Finished writing the rough draft of the text and dialogue for Chapter 1 of “COEXISTENCE” and will continue working on the updated character designs, new character sheets and then start learning the beautiful process of creating the coding for the Visual Novel!

Honestly I didn’t feel too forced to my eyes. I liked how his family supported him to the point even the Grandpa was supportive which caught me off guard! Plus his gay identity wasn’t a plot focus, only his dream of being an adventurous explorer was. And that made him multidimensional

It’s why Strange World flopped so hard from one part that it had a gay protagonist who isn’t one dimensional and felt more like an inspirational character, but also because Disney is still dealing with their PTSD from SciFi films flopping back in the 2000s

But sometimes the underdog movies that don’t have much recognition get a lot of love from fans who saw them as kids because it was new, it was fresh! Yet Disney was hurt by the box office results of their SciFi movies (minus Stitch) that they’re risk adverse from that genre

It was a time when Disney & Pixar were experimenting with new genres in the animation medium. A few were successful (Lilo & Stitch, Incredibles, Monsters Inc., The Emperor’s New Groove) while others weren’t (Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Brother Bear) in terms of box office numbers & audience reactions
