Gina! Hi!! Yes! Tho I shared the first pitch and then got busy with other things.
Would love to hear your thoughts, btw. xox

Caught between her family's suffocating Orthodoxy and her dream of becoming a great painter, fiercely talented 17-year-old Evie tumbles into a reckless romance that just might burn down everything she loves. #DVPit #YA
Weird question but when an agent requests your full manuscript, do you read the whole book again just in case or do you just send?
It made me so happy to hear it. Community means many things. 😍

I just found out that there's a mother and daughter on my mailing list who come to my writing events and write together and encourage each other and it just makes my heart so happy!
Absolutely bizarre. I'm not in the US, so I don't seem to be affected in the same way. Either way, I'm following you here, too.
Maybe it was using the word "penetrate"? Or the whole show for women thing?

It's astounding that anyone could mention Hitler and WWII, leave out the Jews, and still pretend to be a student of history.
The scary/funny/frustrating part is OPUMB could refer to so many different people.
An easy, free gift for authors that you know they'll love.
Sometimes you just have to admit, you're never going to make those five chicken recipes you e-mailed to yourself and clear it out your inbox.
The word "priority" was meant to be singular. We were never meant to have a long list of priorities. Imagine what your life would be like if there was only one "most important thing."
What would your one most important thing be?

Welcoming lots of new followers. Some of you I know. Many I don't. I'm happy to follow back, but please do say hi and introduce yourself!
I agree on both accounts. My sci-fi book also has Jewish/Iranian characters but it's not central to the story.
I've been slowly querying but I'm going to speed up now that I just finished a large project.
And thank you for amplifying us!
Gracias! I'm finishing a draft of a sci-fi YA book that takes place in Argentina 300 years into the future.
I'm querying another YA that takes place in the modern Orthodox Jewish community. This is quote a time to be querying a Jewish book but onward!
What about you?
Hey Brandi! I'd love to be included in your Jewish women's Starter Pack, too. xo
Me! I've been living, writing and teaching writing from Argentina for 15 years. I didn't know you were living outside the US, too.
An image of two old Sybren-brand tape measures. Their white background is discolored and scratched. The numbers might have been black originally, but appear navy. Text reads "warranted boxwood" and "made in Holland." Image by Lainey Powell via CC
#Writingtip 1.5: Ever wonder how writers devise similes like "the average banana is one-tenth as tall as Danny DeVito?" Here's one spot where the magic happens:

Not to mention public libraries are incredible. They support so many people in education and other ways. Always support the library.
Unfortunately, IME, the only way to avoid it is to stop the scrolling. And yet here I am....
Most definitely. Have you seen How-to Be A Cult Leader on Netflix? It requires a level of sociopathy to control people just for personal gain.
I never explain. I'm a writer. Also, I'm sure you have a great idea for a book, but I'm not going to write it for you.
That's the kind of feedback that's best left unsaid. So unhelpful. I say ignore it completely. It's not you. It's them.
While yes, this is what pulls me to left-wing politics, it's important to see the words and actions of our political allies with a discerning eye. Some are incredibly ugly and damaging.
It does seem that way.
