Luckily for me, I have skill issues and the results are so bad that I never get hooked 🤣

One thing I don't think I see talked about enough is how AI services like Claude Code are psychologically similar to gambling.

When you spend tokens you have a chance of a good result, with lots of smaller good results along the way to keep you hooked. No wonder some people say they're "addicted" 😬

If LLMs are going to be the new norm, we should push on adopting Web Sustainability Guidelines. If code is cheap and is going to be written/maintained by a machine: shouldn't we push for the machine to write long-term sustainable applications? #FuckReact

I tried Sifa today and it looks promising! Migrating it from Linkedin was a breeze.

With the current enshitification of Linkedin we need other spaces for Professional Networking.

I avoid having long sessions as, in my experience, it happens more frequently as the chat evolves.

I try to focus each session on specific changes and as soon as I get the results I review, made manual adjustments, commit and open a new session to continue.

I neve go further than 4 o 5 prompts.

I had the same experience with Opencode. Suddenly plan mode didn't matter anymore.

A couple weeks ago, Nicholas Keung at the Toronto Star reported on how generative AI is being used to assess immigration applications in Canada...and how it's led to refusals because of stuff the AI tool added in, that humans (clearly) failed to check.

Absolutely heartbreaking. So many mathematicians I know studied there, men AND women.

Maryam Mirzakhani studied there.

If this isn't enough to cancel/relocate from the US the International Congress of Mathematicians #ICM2026, nothing will be.

Oracle slashes 30,000 jobs with a cold 6 a.m. email Oracle began laying off up to 30,000 employees globally, notifying them via a 6 a.m. email from "Oracle Leadership" with no prior warning from HR or managers.

"...the job cuts are expected to free up between $8 billion and $10 billion in cash flow — money the company urgently needs to fund a massive buildout of AI data centers."
