Mary’s Song
Marion Angus

I wad ha’e gi’en him my lips tae kiss,
Had I been his, had I been his;
Barley breid and elder wine,
Had I been his as he is mine.

The wanderin’ bee it seeks the rose;
Tae the lochan’s bosom the burnie goes;
The grey bird cries at evenin’s fa’,
“My luve, my fair one, come awa’.”

My beloved sall ha’e this he’rt tae break,
Reid, reid wine and the barley cake,
A he’rt tae break, and a mou’ tae kiss,
Tho’ he be nae mine, as I am his.

Mary’s Song Marion Angus I wad ha’e gi’en him my lips tae kiss, Had I been his, had I been his; Barley breid and elder wine, Had I been his as he is mine. Valentina's Song (Tomorrow Will Be Better Than Today).
Valentina's Song (Tomorrow Will Be Better Than Today). YouTube video by Steve Rosenberg

I miss Valentina & her kiosk. I miss her positivity & warm-heartedness. Valentina has been undergoing cancer treatment. To cheer her up I turned the Valentina’s Kiosk theme into a song & the legendary BBC Singers
have recorded it for her. Here is Valentina’s Song. Conducted by David Hill.

Another story that started on The Other Place. This is, once again, about the value of talking. Everyone has a story they can tell, and some might need to tell. We just need to learn how to properly listen. But I guess most of all it's about hope. 1/21

It's a long time since I last saw I Know Where I'm Going! and back then I wouldn't have known that Ho Ro My Nut-Brown Maiden was the first Gaelic song ever recorded on a gramophone record (by The Queen of Scottish Song, Jessie MacLachlan. who is buried in Cathcart Cemetery in Glasgow).
