A loose cartridge of Wave Race 64. The label has the logo in the upper left with a man wearing a green and blue helmet on jet ski driving toward the viewer. There is a Nintendo Player's Choice emblem in the upper right and the K-A ESRB rating in the lower left.
Wave Race 64! I never owned a 64 in my youth, but I was able to play this wonderful little game. Never could quite get the hang of the tricks. The water physics in this game were stunning at the time, and honestly the game holds up quite well. #RandomGameSaturday
IDK who needs to hear this but the "you have to adjust for inflation" bit isn't the zinger you think it is.
Because you'd also have to adjust for inflation in shelter, utilities, medical, insurance, f%&(ing food - and then you'd realize purchasing power has fallen as wage growth hasn't kept up.
I have never listened to an Iron Maiden album before today.
I now have a new appreciation for Maiden. Still not my preference, but I'm not kicking it out of bed either.
I did a speedrun of Glass Joe on the newly discovered prototype of Punch Out! It doesn't play any audio though, so I ended up doing a complete restoration of the audio using very advanced tech.
Please hear the tech you won't regret the tech.

The front cover of Red Dead Redemption on the XBOX 360. It is a picture of a bearded man with greasy long hair holding a sawed off shotgun aimed slightly askew. He is in front of a red background with sillouhettes of men on horses on the right and the stars from the United States flag blended into the background on the left.
The interior of the Red Dead case. A disk on the right has the same man from the cover pointing a pistol and wearing a cowboy hat. The instruction booklet on the left with a prostitute on the cover standing in front of a saloon blended into a red background. The case sits atop a half folded map of the game world that was also included when originally purchased. Rockstar was always good with their bonus stuff.
The back cover of Red Dead. There are some cinematic screenshots, no actual gameplay shown, and some words to set up the premise. Rated M for Mature because of blood, bad words, naked ladies, sexy time, gambling, smoking, and a little payote use at some point in Mexico.
Red Dead Redemption for #RandomGameSaturday.
Developed and published by Rockstar for the PS360 consoles (PC to come much later). You are John Marston on a quest for vengeance.
It's clunky - like most Rockstar games from this era - but it's a world full of wonder. Still holds up, imo.
I noticed that I've recently only written reviews on Backloggd for games that I really dislike.
I've written a few for games I really liked, and a few that weren't more than just a "this game fucks" but the bad games? I put a little thought into those.
Perhaps I should flex that muscle more.
The front cover of Forgotten Worlds for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive. It features two armor clad, machine gun wielding, buff sunglass wearing men standing offset from one another in front of what appears to be a moon. The man on the left is dressed in blue while the one on the right is dressed in red. The Genesis logo is at the top of the box and the game logo is at the bottom.
The interior of the Forgotten Worlds case reveals an instruction manual on the left and a cartridge on the right. Both have the same image from the front cover adorning them.
The back cover of Forgotten Worlds. There are three screenshots showing off the art and gameplay with text explaining the story from what appears to be a first person perspective.
It's Forgotten Worlds for #RandomGameSaturday
Published and reprogrammed by SEGA (originally Capcom) for the Genesis/Mega Drive.
I have a fond memory of spending a weekend hanging with an older cousin and renting this game. We managed to finish it in an evening and had a blast while doing so.
A poster ad for Escflowne with much of the main cast and the mech itself behind them.
Been waiting eagerly till a bit later in the day to say this, but happy birthday, The Vision of Escaflowne! <3 Airing on TV Tokyo in Japan 30 years ago today!
Magnificent show. 💜 And one that could have been so different if the original director (G Gundam's Yasuhiro Imagawa) had stayed on board.
Just finished Oshi no Ko season 2. There are some Perfect Blue vibes that feel off putting, but in the good way.
I'll wait until S3 finishes before continuing, but it is likely to sit with me for a while. Good stuff.
A Japanese ad with movie poster vibes for Parasite Eve. It's got Eve and various scenes and locations from the game behind her next to a close-in render of Aya's face.
A gameplay snap of Aya in her evening gown at the opera, gun drawn from the seats, and just about to yeet the guy next to her, her useless excuse of a date.
A Nomura illustration of Aya pointing a pistol at the viewer, a determine look on her face and the hint of a snarl.
A crt tv screenie of the intro with a blue glow background and a render of Aya's face. The worst foe lies within the self...
Psst! Listen! Your cells are communicating with you! And they're telling you that it's the 28th anniversary in Japan of the release of Square's cinematic RPG: PARASITE EVE.
This is such an amazing game. One that stands out pretty uniquely in the Square catalogue at what it does.
Aya Brea… ❤️
The front cover of Transformers Devastation for the PS4. Optimus Prime is in a defensive stance on the left with Megatron getting ready to fire his arm cannon on the right. Devastator looms large behind them.
The disk inside the case for Transformers Devastation. There is no instruction booklet. Devastator is on the disk.
The back cover of Transformers Devastation. There are screenshots of the game as well as some gameplay information. There are five playable Autobots: Bumblebee, Optimus, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock. You can also switch between vehicle mode and robot mode with a click of a button.
Transformers Devastation is a comfort game for me. Developed by Platinum Games and published by Activision this is the Transformers game I always wanted. G1 look, G1 voices, and that signature Platinum gameplay.
God damn do I love this game. #RandomGameSaturday
Wow! I've not played a nothing burger game in a long time, and while it was some decent junk food it ended on the most unsatisfying cliffhanger imaginable. Nothing was concluded, nothing was gained. I don't regret my time with MindsEye but it was such a miss.
Solid 4/10, will never play again
This is a video that should be on all platforms with video
So here is
Sugita Tomokazu + Nakamura Yuuichi + Sakurai Takahiro
Playing the Yu Yu Hakusho video game all as Chu to do Norio Wakamoto impressions
I hate to admit how much I'm looking forward to getting home from work and finishing MindsEye tonight.
It is the epitome of a 5/10 game but it's the right kind of junk food for me at the moment. Just mindless, unoriginal garbage that I can shovel into my brain and have a fair time with.
The front cover of Dewey's Adventure for the Nintendo Wii. There is a creature in the shape of a water droplet with a sea green complexion sliding out of a frame which showcases some of the enemies in the game. The creature is Dewey. This is his adventure.
The interior of the Dewy's Adventure case. The disk is on the right. It is teal with blue lettering. The instructions on the left. It's cover is the same as the case.
The back cover of Dewy's Adventure. Showing some screen shots and examples of the Wii Remote movements you'll make to navigate the game world. There is some text as well, but it doesn't matter.
Dewy's Adventure for the Wii. Developed and published by Konami you use the power of the Wiimote to maneuver Dewy. A cute little platformer from the early Wii library. I've not played it in a bit, but I do remember enjoying it. #RandomGameSaturday
If a single player campaign doesn't default to having subtitles on what are we even doing? Especially if the game cold opens (which, please video games, don't do that)
Yo, Earthion fucking whips. What a fun little shmup with an astonishing soundtrack.
been feeling kinda stressed lately so I made a little prototype
is this anything
It's fun when the football club you support mimics the football team you're a fan of. (I support Tottenham for reasons and am a life long Lions fan).
It's fun to be a fan of a sports team that routinely under performs.
I hope Wart makes a Doki Doki Panic joke in that new Mario movie. Get one in for the sickos.
Sometimes I see these scams avoid the spam filter, and as I delete it I say with a laugh, "not today scammers. You're not gonna get me for at least another 30 years!"

Somewhere out there someone's favorite pokemon is tentacool and I'm happy for them.
Someone else's favorite pokemon is zubat and I question their taste
Nice I've had this bad boy for quite some time. Good stuff
