Happy 80th Birthday to Tim Curry, a guy who treats every single part like it was the role he was born to play.

They're fed up of all the flies peddled in that city
I really wish there were a bluesky setting to block strangers' posts about recently departed pets 🙃
- to the conclusion that hypotheses are liabilities. In this instance, if you're supposed to be trying to find a gorilla you've not been told about, yes. And yes, data vis should be part of any analysis (especially hypothesis ii and iii!). But this seems like quite a stretch. 2/2
The answer to that seems pretty obvious to me. :P Indeed, "answering the specific hypothesis-driven questions did not require plotting the data". I don't see how judging students on a hidden criterion (did they find the gorilla) when the task they're assigned is to test a hypothesis leads- 1/2
I'm confused. Sounds like you defined three hypotheses & asked students to test them. It'd be great if plotting the data happened as part of that: some students in both arms DID do that & found the gorilla.
Why not just ask them to plot the data before introducing hypotheses? Seems like a gotcha.

I like neither breakfast nor sweet stuff, but that looks fire. Hope you got some rest!
She-Hulk was FUN. I really enjoyed it, and people who didn't seemed fairly shy about articulating why.
This is a long read, but worth it to get a sense of how colossal and pointless the damage to the CDC has been and how brave the people who worked there and continue to work there are.
New Kim Lab paper! 🥳 BK lead a rigorous study of the effect of microglial knockdown of PU.1 (Spi1) in APPPS1 amyloid mice. Made multiple pathological measures worse, can be partially rescued by overexpression of target genes Syk & Fcgr1. #blueskyence #microglia www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Man goes to his doctor. He says "Doc, my wife tells me my hearing is going."
The Doctor says "Okay. tell me about the symptoms."
Man replies "Homer is the father; his wife Marge has high blue hair........"
It's been on bioRxiv for a while, but delighted to share that our nuclei isolation paper is now published in Cell Reports Methods!
We hope it's of use to anyone planning costly snRNAseq experiments - let's get more 🧬💻🥳 for our $$$!

This popped up on my feed too, decided to do some reading. He wrote FOUR songs about them raiding his house, absolute legend. First time I've thought about Afroman since 2010, for my shame. I've been telling my friends
The Science, Innovation & Tech committee have written the most amazing letter to DSIT/UKRI/STFC:
"What is clear is that, despite your assertions to the contrary... widespread cuts have been proposed before adequate consultation with those affected was undertaken. This is wholly unacceptable" 💪🔭⚛️🧪
Never misspelled colourful as calendar before
Or Wind in the Willows. Either way, woodland creatures. Also the notes should be more calendar. ALSO, there should be shiny holographic or alternative art notes that are OBJECTIVELY worth the same but are cooler to have.
I want Mrs Dribble's face on the 50p
You leave badgers alone. Badgers are fantastic.
I quite like the idea of a shouty Dido
Honestly one of his better epitaph drafts
To be fair to the Lancet, while they should have caught the "some parents reported the vaccine aligned with the onset of autism symptoms" non sequitur, it was the press conference after it was published where Wakefield really railed against the MMR vaccine.
well i think if people aren't allowed in the hotel linen chute they should put that on a sign

A new paper on falling cat science came out and I just have to draw people's attention to this image
"Turn difficulty to minimum. Enjoy game for art and voice acting and music and aesthetic. Consider replaying game at regular difficulty some day" was how I got into it, and it was a good time.
She has excellent ears, very soulful eyes, and a fantastic snout. Very good dog.
Mogged by a mount, if you will
More like Matt Badloss.
A Logo for Pokémon's 30 year anniversary, featuring the 30 insignia with the 0 replaced by a pokeball as the background, the caption: "Pokémon: Since 1996" in black font, and at the center instead of Pikachu an imposing Annihilape scowling at us with red eyes, visibly bulging veins and firey white hair. Design goes preposterously hard.

There're versions of the 30 year logo with all pokemon on serebii, but one design in particular goes particularly hard
