Yes *pat,pat* all the treats.
Either a portal to another place or else a tree beautifully reflected in a very still puddle in the early morning light
Recently found a dimensional portal a la "His Dark Materials", was tempting I do admit....
Ah! Images are back up!
Including the one I posted while they weren't showing up!
Enjoy!
Wonderful 💖
UPDATE: the picture that was jamming the BlueSky output buffer has been cleared away. Remember, don’t jam pictures into input slot if they don’t fit. 🧐
Hahaha!
Have a fun beach day!

The Forest Service’s proposed closure of research facilities in Hawaiʻi, including the Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry and a biocontrol lab, threatens years of research on biocontrol agents and disease-resistant ʻōhiʻa strains, impacting efforts to protect Hawaiʻi’s forests and watersheds.

If there are folks who would like to design a couple of "FUND OUR LOCAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES" posters, holler at me at niapoetry@gmail.com and please tell me your rate for this. Poster size would be 11 by 17 landscape size.
I need to print some posters for a forthcoming event.
Small mushroom pushing through ice
A tiny mushroom pushing through melting ice—just doing its thing while the forest shifts seasons around it.
It’s a bit ironic how these can be the most delicate living things out there, yet they can be found almost any time. Crazy…

Draped, dripping blooms
Close up of water droplets on flowers
Happy flower faces in the rain
The rains have returned to Portland and the plants are giddy over the water and mild temps. The blooms are competing for attention, each shouting LOOK AT ME and how can we not?

Beautiful.
New to the idea of adding Alt Text to images? This is the best thread I’ve seen explaining what and why. The basic idea is to write a brief description of any image you post. For people who can’t see the image well and need a text-based option.
Record-Breaking Ocean Monster ‘Size of a Car’ Found One Mile Deep in Pacific (Video)
NOAA’s underwater robot descended a mile off Hawaii and found a car-sized glass sponge that may be thousands of years old. Watch the eerie discovery unfold. Read more in the comments.
A close up of a flower with seven petals, it is about the size of a dime. There is California grass and two other blooms in the background. From what I could find it is either Bidens pilosa or Bidens alba. It is invasive in Hawai‘i.
Spotted at the farm today, blooms are about the size of a dime.
Oh no! Thats terrible.
Yes 🫂

Rocky Mountain lit up by the sun, blue sky & wisps of cloud behind
Yoho National Park Cathedral crags July 2025
A massive sandstone formation at Garden of the Gods rises abruptly from a dry grass meadow, its surface a deep burnt orange lit full-on by afternoon sun, the rock face scored with vertical streaks and pocked with small cavities along the upper ridgeline where jagged fins and spires break the silhouette. A line of dark juniper and scrub oak collects at the base, and behind the formation smaller red rock fins recede to the left. The sky is a vivid blue with clouds building in the west, their shadows just beginning to reach the meadow in the foreground.
This rock at Garden of the Gods was compressed seafloor before it was anything else. It has been making up for that ever since.
