That's not rude at all. I think it's absurd that people think we need to be punched in the face 24/7 to be reminded of what's going on.

I come on social media to commiserate, not be miserable

In a very real sense, my joy had been stolen.

Yet, there is still much to be celebrated, even in a broken world filled with pain and sorrow. This has been true at all points in human history.

I like this take. I may even start sharing joy online again.

I stopped posting much ~8yrs ago. The US had just elected a nationalist/populist/fascist, my house had just been robbed (rzen.net/stolen-lego/), and the global outlook was depressing. It didn't seem right to share my trite, happy things.
