Recently I attended Loopconf. An independent WordPress event focusing on design, development and making WordPress - both the software and the community - better.
Here are my thoughts on it.

NEW POST: On being inspired at #loopconf and hitting publish on a blog post I had half written....
LoopConf London 2025 wrapped up last week, and we’re still buzzing! 🚀
A huge thank-you to every volunteer, speaker, and participant who helped make #LoopConf an incredible experience.
We’re grateful for your energy and support — see you at the next one! 💙
I've got a blog post in the works from #loopconf, which I'll hit publish at some point, but Tim's post reaches a lot of similar conclusions to me (it was inspiring!).
Taking @ohhelloana.blog talk seriously and hit publish...
The long way to WordCamp Gdynia 🚀
Leeds → London (WPLDN + LoopConf) → Poland 🇵🇱
Turns out it’s quicker to get to Gdynia than London.

Andy standing on stage while the title of their talk “get the core right and the resilient code will follow” is projected behind them.
And we ended the day with the @bell.bz - I’d seen this talk before and it always hits right. Especially as someone who works in different projects all the time, there’s always something that sparks your brain to reflect on the current thing you’re working on. Also, matchy matchy with #LoopConf
Anybody going for dinner before the after party at #loopconf?
Final talk on resilient code at #loopconf
Thank you for listening to me #LoopConf 💛

This, from @ohhelloana.blog, is wonderful #loopconf
A speaker stands at a clear lectern beside a large screen in a hall with teal curtains and a yellow stage light. The slide reads, “What does it mean to have an online presence nowadays?” with doodle icons of a cocktail glass, an ID badge, and a cat, plus links “@anarodrigues@front-end.social ” and “ohhelloana.blog”—from the talk “Building, Sharing, and Owning Your Online Presence.
Ana Rodrigues shares at #LoopConf about what started #WordPress - blogging. Building, Sharing, and Owning Your Online Presence
Really excited to hear this talk from @ohhelloana.blog #loopconf
First up after lunch is Ivelina Dimova talking about offloading WordPress functionality to Google Cloud #loopconf
Ross alongside a slide saying “you don’t know what’s going on with people”. Lesson #8 of their talk: 25 lessons in 25 years.
Being kind and patient in the moment is a life hack. Everyone benefits from it. Ask me how I know!
Thanks for you talk @rosswintle.uk #LoopConf
Now onto Rashmi Nagpal talking about the WordPress Security and the ecosystem. #loopconf
Actually makes more sense than your average Texan Jazz Enthusiast statement that uses the same structure @rosswintle.uk #loopconf
YES @rosswintle.uk! SHOUT THIS LOUDER FROM THE BACK #loopconf
Ross Wintle stands at the right side of the stage near the speaker podium wearing a grey and white plaid shirt. A large screen is behind him entitled 25 Lessons from 25 Years
Ross Wintle and I have been connected for 5 years online via #WordPress contribution, and finally have the opportunity at #LoopConf to spend time together. What a great talk about giving talks at conferences like this.
Looking forward to @rosswintle.uk talking about 25 talks in 25 minutes
(Also @tacoverdo.com is smart) #loopconf
Great start of the day at #LoopConf - really enjoyed how both @johnonolan.bsky.social and @rmccue.io shared their projects on democratising publishing.
Community Spotlight: Thrilled to see LoopConf take place!
Enjoy the sessions, networking, and all the inspiration!
Take a look around – you might spot a couple of our #WPAD2025 organizers.

#WPA11yDay #LoopConf
Interesting morning so far on #loopconf. Lot of talks focusing on making things sustainable for WordPress (and open source in general), focus on companies being curators and fosterers of ecosystems. Rather than large monoliths that gobble things up for growth.
It is a world view I share 😊
Ryan stands at the speaker podium on the right side of the stage, with a very large screen behind center stage.
Ryan McCue shares why FAIR.pm began and how it addresses #WordPress privacy and distribution needs. #LoopConf

John O'Nolan of Ghost shared his journey from #WordPress Core Contributor to kickstarting Ghost, with shoutouts to the ActivityPub integration between platforms. #LoopConf

Today I am at #LoopConf - doing the long version of my talk called “Building, Sharing, and Owning Your Online Presence” after lunch!
