A screenshot of my duckduckgo search. On the right hand side is the search bar with the Babadook written in it. (I forgot to capitalize it in my search, and I’m ashamed.) On the left side is the duckduckgo logo which is usually an orange circle with a cartoon duck in it. But now the cartoon duck has babadook hair and a babadook top hat.

Guys… guys I am fucking DYING right now. I searched The Babadook on @duckduckgo.com and the ICON CHANGED TO THE BABADOOK. Like I was already on board with DDG because 1. Not Google 2. Allows me to turn off ai, but this… I’m so easily amused.

The Unused Epigraphs (Part 1) One of the things I was just asked for (at time of writing) was an epigraph for my novel, Falling for the Protagonist. I was also asked for my dedication and acknowledgments. Writing and submitting the acknowledgments was probably the closest I’ve come to being able to internalize the truth of being published. For a very long time, I held up “writing an Acknowledgments page” as some beacon of publishing, the thing that—above all else—would say to me, “Hey, Bex.

With the UK release date for Falling for the Protagonist less than a month away (!!!) I have decided to release some blog posts about epigraphs I never intend to use in my novel. It was a fun thought exercise! But be warned: This post contains feminism.

UK release: 7 May

US Release: September 22

I wish I could rent a screen at a movie theater for a couple hours to hook my computer up to while I’m writing. Jumbo size Microsoft Word. The iTunes library I started cultivating at fourteen in ultra 11K surround sound or whatever. That’d be fun.

Was trying to remember if I’d taken my Adderall today when I looked outside and noted my dog doing his thing (💩). This reminded me that the yard was thawed enough to clean up, so I grabbed a bag and some gloves. Halfway through the task it hit me. Yeah, I took my Adderall today 😅

Script Doctoring KPop Demon Hunters As always, Bex is late to the party. (Actually, in real life, I’m never late to parties because I’m not invited to them.) I finally watched KPop Demon Hunters and I have some thoughts about the cen…

Guess who’s late to the KPop Demon Hunters train! I heard enough hype that I decided to give it a watch this weekend. This #blog post is a #review and critique. I liked the movie, but felt it missed the mark with its message. #Netflix #movies #popculture

A reflected image of glass discards frozen in water. Kind of looks a little Satanic? But there are also some hearts in there. Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

A reflected image of glass discards frozen in water. Kind of looks a little Satanic? But there are also some hearts in there. Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Searching through my photos and discovered this one, which I had forgotten I made. Does anyone else see Satan or is it just me?

Fun fact: If anyone ever tells you something along the lines of “Don’t resist. There’s no point in fighting it. It’s inevitable. It’ll be fine. This is for the best” resist the FUCK harder. There is no clearer call to action than someone telling you to sit down and be quiet. 📢🤬

I wrote a #shortstory called “Good Fences” months ago, and I hate that it has only become MORE relevant over time. Every day brings new waves of hopelessness and helplessness. Please note the TRIGGER WARNINGS at the top of the #blog post. #fiction #satire bexgoos.me/2026/01/31/g...

A screenshot of a comment waiting for moderation on my blog. The top says my username, which is BexGoos, and the name of the post the comment appeared on, which is Finally Emptying the Dishwasher. Below that is the username of the supposed commenter (read: Spam Bot) which I censored with a purple line. Then the comment itself, which reads:

I AM GLAD MY EX-BOYFRIEND CAME BACK TO ME AND RECONCILED WITH ME AFTER HE BROKE UP WITH ME 5 MONTHS AGO. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE), THANKS TO THIS RELATIONSHIP EXPERT…

Finally, the menu at the bottoom gives me the options to approve (checkmark), mark as spam (exclamation point in stop sign), trash the comment (trashcan icon), like the comment (star), or edit (pencil).

Look… I know this comment is spam. But I’m so incredibly tempted to go full Chaos Mode and approve it anyway. #wordpress #blog

The Suffragette Scandal is one of my all-time favorite novels. I read and loved the whole series, to be clear. Just… love me some women’s suffrage drama haha.

Reason 1,928 why I hate ai. The “long document” referenced in the attached screenshot is MY BOOK. I was looking at a PDF of my book to approve proofreading changes. Not only am I disgusted by the suggestion of, “Hey. Reading is hard. Don’t do it.” But also I don’t want ai to read my book! #fuckai

A mixed media piece of art created from an edited photograph of broken glass. It is an abstract pattern with lots of splattered colors, mainly greens and purples, with blues and pinks thrown in.

An edited photograph of a shattered piece of sheet glass. Cracks run throughout. The glass is clear, bright green, and purple. I brightened the image and increased the saturation on the colors.

Latest #mixedmedia creation. I am trying to do some basic #kilnforming projects, and… it’s not going well. So I turned a broken project into art using photo editing and Procreate. Finished image is called “Shattered Glass.” Original and edited photos included for reference. #art

So… TikTok’s automated subtitles are usually pretty accurate. No real complaints. Except um… this last video I made… it uh… did something strange for the last three words I said. Should ask @legaleagle.tv if I can sue TikTok for threatening me. I could use the extra cash 😂

New profile pic just dropped! Is it customary to take a “silly” version when doing about the author photos? If it isn’t, it should be!

The regime's new Epstein coverup will backfire They're buying time but not fooling anyone.

Thank you @nberlat.bsky.social! Obviously I want the files released sans redactions, but it drives me insane that people act like we need them to confirm Trump took part in these atrocities (and many others).

I believe his victims!

And I believed HIM when he bragged about it!

Nothing like the feeling of helplessness that comes from knowing that my healthcare is in the hands of a business that achieves profit by denying me healthcare. This has been pointed out so many times. By people with more followers than I. But we shall never see change. All hail the bottom line 🫡

My health insurance doesn’t want to pay for the meds my doctor prescribed to (maybe) help the skin condition that affects me from scalp to toes. Too expensive. Try cheaper solutions first.

And when those don’t work?

Cheap med + cheap med + expensive med > expensive med alone

Never been so amused by a #typo before. It’s supposed to say “eligible.” Didn’t even notice it until I scrolled back up to check something in my manuscript. Anyone else have funny typo memories? #writing #amwriting #workinprogress #writersky

Did they have couches?? When I was in high school, I for some reason had the bright idea to write a Steampunk-ish novel called The Silk Top Hat Society. It was going to be an action/adventure with a touch of magic and mystery in which a group of old-timey people come across several magical silk top hats, each of which would give the wearer a specific otherworldly ability.

Sometimes I think about those old Looney Tunes episodes (Or maybe there’s only one? My brain always thinks of it as a recurring thing.) where a rooster who looks like Frank Sinatra croons so hard that all the chickens explode mountains of eggs out of their chicken hoohas.

Could someone who knows Sam Neill ask him if sniffing the inside of the dinosaur egg in Jurassic Park was a directorial or personal choice? Thank you!

Target in Fargo used to have a single end cap dedicated to Chanukah. Now they have two Christmas end caps and no Chanukah (that I can see). At least I found a roll of generic snowflake wrapping paper. Yaaay for being Jewish in the Midwest 🤦‍♀️
