It is so important when teaching Ss to not finish off their sentence. Today (as most recent days) I asked a question, got an answer that could be correct, and then asked the S to tell me the next line. This has really made them think and shown me what they don't understand. #teaching

Today's observation from myself is to use timers regularly in the lesson. I'm not harking back to strict lesson plans, but just deciding how long to do a task and using them so as to not run out of time at the end of the lesson. #teacherthought
Breaking every step into atoms (atomisation) and checking that each step is understood (by using MWB) has become the most important part of my maths lessons. #teaching #cpd
I find that this encourages the required engagement immediately and is quicker than allowing all in at once. I saw a clip of this tip shared online and decided to try it, so far, it has worked. #teacher #teachertip

Firstly every student needs to remove their coat whilst in the corridor, then I only allow 6 students into my room at a time. These 6 have to be quiet and focussed B4 the next 6 are allowed in.
What are your thoughts on the Ss who said together? I used to do higher ability with lower ability, but I found that this often slowed the higher down. Now I also take into account ability and group by ability.
My thought for the day; seating plans need to be set by the teacher. Students will choose to sit with their mates and in most cases, this results in less productivity. #teacherthoughts
