In media, kindergartners listened to Goodnight Gorilla and discussed workers in a zoo. Then they worked in teams to create and label Zoos out of Legos. Thank you CCEF for funding the grant for the materials. #Lego #media

In media, we read the @nccbabooks nominated book “A Unicorn, a Dinosaur, and a Shark Walk into a Book”. The students used @jarrett_lerner “Finish that Comic” to write a story in a similar fashion. I was impressed with the creativity the students had with their stories. #nccba #ncslma #media
Second grade students listened to “How to Build an Insect” and then used the criteria of an insect to created LEGO insects.

“Yoshi Sea Turtle Genius” was our school’s favorite nominated NC Children’s Book Award.
Ss watched a news clip of Yoshi being released into the ocean.
Then Ss wrote facts about Yoshi or used #SchoolAi to interview Loggerhead Sea Turtles. #NCSLMA #NCCBA
2nd Gr Ss listen to the book “How Dinosaurs went Extinct: a Safety Guide” and then as a class we generated ideas for a dinosaur. We wrote sentences based on their ideas and put it in Adobe express to see what was needed by AI. #AI #Library #AIeducation #NCCBA

As we listened to “Rooster’s off to see the World” Ss worked to +\~ the animals on the trip. I was impressed with how Ss orally expressed thinking. Ss worked in teams to use BeeBots to retell the animal adventure. ⭐️ This is one way library lessons support reading & math lessons. ⭐️ #library
“Fredrico and the Wolf” & Ss used BeeBots to retell the story. One extra special moment was when this Ss led the class in learning the Spanish words that we would find in our book. ⭐️ This is one way that #library lessons can increase reading comprehension for students. ⭐️ #LETRS #MediaCenter #NCSLMA
I jumped onboard and made my @chatgpt action figure. #chatgpt #actionfigure #newtends
“Froggy Gets a Doggy” kindergarten students created and coded a path that rhymes with “dog” for the @ozobot to travel on. Other Kindergarten students wrote words that rhyme with “dog” and drew pictures of them. ⭐️ This is one way that library lessons support foundational phonemic reading skills. ⭐️
Look at all the amazing words we have been collecting through our media lessons.
🚨Building Vocabulary 🚨
Is a high yield strategy to increase student reading achievement.
This is just one of the many ways library lessons support overall student growth.

Grand Tales
An opportunity for students to come to the library to read with their grandparent or grand friend.
It was an awesome morning filled with reading, giggles, creating, and love. Looking forward to doing this monthly. #Library #MediaCenter #SchoolLibrary #Librarian
"The inspiration for the illustrations in Ruthie Rose’s Big Idea came from my own love of poetry and art. I wanted Ruthie’s idea bubbles to be bright, bold, and filled with glitter and magic." —Holly Hatam 100scopenotes.com/2024/06/10/c...
Ss listened to Jumper: A
Day in the Life of a Backyard
Jumping Spider. Ss described a
spider in detail. Then we used the Text to Image Generator in #AdobeExpress to create an image that best
matched the descriptive
sentences. #AI #AIart #MediaCenter #Library
