Annnd, I was not the only person to see them. This inaturalist report is from the same place, at about the same time. VERY happy someone got pics!π₯³
Thank you! They were busy diving, so twice I showed DH, and they disappeared, as if on queue.π
Aw, thank you! So, maybe I was EXTRA lucky (moved here weeks ago).π²

Thanks!!! π
Puget sound under a partly cloudy sky, looking very silvery, with an island in view. There are two people on the edge of the shore looking away.
They were out THERE.π

Just saw two marbled murrelets in the Sound--soooo exciting!
Like a famous movie star sighting for a conservation biologist.

A Great Blue Heron takes flight. It's wings are concave as it is lifting into flight.
I saw a nice Great Blue Heron yesterday. I kept clicking as he departed and got a shot where the wings are perfectly concave. Fun, fun click to get!

Close up with a beautiful nudibranch on a rocky reef. The lower half of the image is a palette of swatches made from the nudi's vibrant colours.
Once upon a time I just admired nudis and sea slugs.
But it was not enough. Now apparently I'm creating an R package to celebrate their colour palettes? π
