Photo of sticker with a black and white sketch of three very happy-looking people riding on a bike, also carrying flowers groceries. The person riding on the handlebars is holding a giant flag that reads, PLUS QU'UN SPORT UN TRANSPORT
I approve of the wordplay here 😃

I prefer to call this fog spit, or when it seems more personal, karl spit.
It's also the reason why I, right after moving here, walked into a job interview soaking wet. 🤦♂️ Not saying I hold a grudge or anything 😆
Photo: looking across mudflats toward San Francisco skyline in the distance under post-sunset sky with wispy clouds
I always love this photo when it pops up.
Sunset sky & mudflats. Home!
And snoopy 😀
Never mind, ignore that survey. Not going to promote even a simple stats exercise with such a poorly formed gender question. And the notes indicate they know it's problematic but decided to ask it anyway, despite the millions of other questions they could have asked just to get some random data 👎
Huh! I don't think I was familiar with the dynamite part of the fire stories!
As a hydrologist, I like to call out bottled water marketing gimmicks like this, promoting misleading information about groundwater quality.
Stamen is working on a research project about the existing map design & development tooling landscape: what tools people use, where there are gaps, and how workflows could be improved in the future.

Bottled water label: Volvic. EAU MINÉRALE NATURELLE VOLCANIQUE
Bottled water with label: GOÛTEZ À LA FORCE DE LA NATURE Un goût brut et inaltére Filtrée à travers 6 coliches de roches, volcaniques Naturellement pure et faiblement minéralisee Volvic.
Well, I think that's a new one to me, promoting "volcanic" water. 🌋💧
I mean, I usually don't drink it unless it's flowed through at least 10 layers of volcanic rock, but it was given to me so I have to make an exception 😆
This is an interesting spot, I got to do some field work there almost a decade ago.
This project is also an example of the value of understanding the local interaction between groundwater and surface water, which was an important consideration for its successful restoration.
Photograph of the Snake River gorge from halfway across the US93 bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho, showing the olive green water of the river winding into the distance between steep and sheer canyon walls under a blue sky with white clouds on the horizon
One last picture of the Snake River gorge from halfway across the US93 bridge on my way out of Twin Falls this morning.
Have some wet weather coming tomorrow so I'm gonna hunker. May hunker through Thursday too due to heavy winds.

I had no idea that even existed! These days when I arrive early, I drop off my luggage & go sit outside for awhile ... and that looks much nicer than the gross benches outside the doors.
View of large tree with large fungus on the side. Smaller tree is growing through the fungus.

Yes! The main shelf is on the side of a large tree trunk. Then a smaller tree somehow grew through it?!
Sign stuck in sediment
Piece of boardwalk and signage stranded downstream of creek
Destroyed bathroom building
Broken picnic table mostly buried
It's been open most of the time in recent years since the boardwalk was destroyed, you just had to walk in from the main road. These pix were multiple visits, before the road re-opened or the boardwalk replaced

Did not make it to DV this winter, but I think i have enough Salt Creek photos & videos to tide me over 😀

Elk in a grassy meadow.
Small trees growing out of large stump.
Large fungus on side of tree, skewered through the center by the thin trunk of a newer young tree.
Such a fun trip to Prairie Creek Redwoods SP last month!

Important coping question these days: are you
HOOKED ON STURGEON??
Thank you for your work in this!
New achievement unlocked! Submitted an AGU26 proposal a full 10 days ahead of deadline. New PR for me 😆
Wow, I was not aware of these initiatives, let alone how broad some of them are:
"The measure will prohibit advertising for air travel, cruises and petrol-powered cars."
Some day they'll go the way of cigarette ads.
Wow, I didn't know about those initiatives to ban ads.
Oh my! Glad you were all able to find the root problem!
😱😱😱 Hope you are all safe. That's scary.
This made me purge a few others, it's like spring cleaning!
But a weird thing is, I couldn't seem to delete google maps! Took several tries before I found a work around. They really don't want to let you go free 😆
🌈 🚨 Rainbow alert!
This is NOT a drill.
Gorgeous rainbow over the Berkeley hills. 🤩

I deleted & reinstalled bluesky, it cut 3GB!
It's only ... 31,635 items in photos, how much space could that really take? 🤪
