The 28th Virginia battle flag is a Confederate battle flag that belonged to the 28th Virginia Infantry Regiment. Captured by the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg, the flag was brought to Minnesota and exhibited at the state's capitol for several years before passing into the permanent collection of the Minnesota Historical Society after 1896 where it has remained since.

Happy Confederate Surrender Day from Minnesota where we still have your goddamn flag and we’re not giving it up.

EFF is Leaving X After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue.

Chevron's CEO made $104 million while America bombed Iran America's oil executives have pocketed $1.4 billion selling stock during the Iran war, a new investigation shows.

Who's profiting from ridiculous and unnecessary wars? Big Oil CEOs, to name one obvious group. @emorwee.bsky.social

I have not! It’s in Magnolia which we almost never get to. It’s a real beauty and surprisingly new for the style, built in 1941 when architects had moved on from European styles

Stella sits in the sun on the sidewalk in front of a beautiful house made of dark brick. It sits elevated by some nice green landscaping. It’s a lovely day with blue sky and some wispy clouds that look like rays coming out from behind the house.

This is Mom’s favorite house in all of Seattle so she takes me here a lot. It’s named “Chateau Noire” and it has gargoyles, gothic arches, a secret entrance, and twisty chimneys! The owners are super nice and told me I was sweet and pretty so I like it here too.

Lisa grew up near Wilmington International in North Carolina, an airport where you went to the one ticket counter, walked 20 feet to the one security line, then walked 20 feet to the one gate. Its international passengers were all boxes on FedEx and UPS 😅

I think its gotten slightly bigger since

Chicago Turns All Public School IDs Into Library Cards To Boost Student Access Chicago Public Library and CPS announced the expansion of The 81 Club, building on a pilot launched in 2022 to give students access to the library system's vast collection and databases.

This is such a good idea. We should do this in NYC.

"All Chicago Public Schools students now have access to nearly everything the city’s libraries have to offer — including physical items like books as well as extensive digital resources."
