Today, on the 19th of April, I’m drinking a mug of hot chocolate. It’s 57F outside. It just felt right to do.
The running up the steps scene from Rocky, but it's a penguin, and it takes four and a half hours.
How can the way a tree branches reveal its history — when the branches aren’t there anymore??

Gargling gargoyle - only way I’ll remember. 😅
This is Sadie. She was finally reunited with her human, astronaut Christina Koch, after her mom’s voyage around the moon took her the furthest any human has ever been from their dog. She can't wait to hear all about the universe. 14/10 (IG: astro_christina)
I was surprised, but then I knelt down to take a closer look. Now if it had been a timber rattler or a copperhead I would’ve stayed clear of it.
For those who aren’t fond of snakes, I also saw a dwarf crested iris.
I take it that you don’t like snakes?
Black snake going up the side of the trail.
Black snake climbing up side of trail. Leaf litter and green ferns on the ground.
Almost stepped on a black racer while hiking today. Just sunning itself on the trail. #snakes
The 'kin' of ‘napkin’ means "little."
‘Nap’ comes from ‘nape,' which means “tablecloth.”

If you’re in this stage of life, please don’t rush through it. Also, put your phone down.
I know.
With everything else going on in the world, this just needs to go right.

Oh, I need one of those.
He needs to go.
Listened to a student play her fiddle today while I ate lunch outside. She’s 17 and has been playing since she was 10. It was beautiful.
Very insensitive.
Yes!
Oh, absolutely. You should see the trillium. They’ll be showing off all over the place soon.

Almost stepped on this Jack-in-the-pulpit on the trail. It’s a newer trail, so not many people have been on it this spring yet.
Several ferns unfurling from the ground. Woods and blue sky in the background.
I do so enjoy seeing the ferns unfurling.

Buy it anyway!
Reading a thread in the #GenX subreddit about how hard it was to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday for our generation. Many of us watched the Challenger disaster live in school and then were expected to carry on with the rest of the day.
Seriously
I was in this mood by 9am this morning.
