Congrats and much deserved!

One time I was sleeping right next to my partner and wasn’t woken up for a new yard bird (yard list might be my most impt list to me - Great Horned Owl - luckily got it another time! Phew!) because I “looked so peaceful and shouldn’t be disturbed.” My dude!! 😅
Oh for sure! Observer biases are at play for surveys and why stats has to account for them.
But when your partner forgets to share a checklist with you for an observation that you were standing side by side for then there are questions that need answering! 🤨😬😉
Not this time….forgot to actually share the checklists! 😱
On your honeymoon even?! 🙈
Too many, K. One too many… 🙊🙈
Luckily no. But goodness that bluetail and counting for Maryland or not is still a debate at large (not between us but overall….have you seen the map line paired with pinpoint locations alone?)
There is truly no drama in a birder couple like EBird discrepancies between the two people drama.
No really. This is legit and serious and everything. No exaggeration.

⏰🪶 Migrating #birds are already showing up in our neck of the woods. Let’s not waste any time in doing our final prep to welcome them back & make our yards as supportive as possible!

Garden therapy all day. I planted about 300 spring bulbs! 💐
Almost all native…there are some minor exceptions for porch pots and a memorial garden area. 💜
I hope it all works out. I’m esp hoping there aren’t too many bare spots in the patches of turf I’m converting and planted in! 🙈🤞
This Maryland-based ornithologist and Orioles fan wasn’t consulted so….🤔
Yep - that's me!! I've loved birds and sharing them with others for as long as I can remember. Let's celebrate birds together at the upcoming ABC webinar!
RSVP here (or bookmark it - it's always updated with the latest webinar all about #birds & #ornithology to sign up for!): ABCbirds.org/jersvp
Happy happy hatch day! I hope you have the best time celebrating! 🥳
Wishing you only the best. Fuck cancer. And yet cheers to the next chapter starting that affirms and celebrates you even more though. Here’s to healing vibes and only better ahead.
Mando & Grogu coming out on May 22 instead of May 4 (Friday versus Monday respectively aside) is a huge off theme, missed opportunity…or just me?
Totally missed this hence the delay but no! We've never seen anything quite like that. "Tense" interactions aren't uncommon during the breeding season and close proximity of course. But this sounds *in*tense!
Rest up! My next big webinar is coming up and you don’t want to miss it!

Congrats!! Such important data to have officially documented, analyzed, and out there to help birds even more!

🥇 We aren't saying Alysa Liu "Stole the Look" from the White-crowned Sparrow, but we aren't not saying it either. Congrats on an epic win!

Are you a friend that's not in Maryland, but wants to take action for birds in your state? I've got bird related legislation issues (and links to take action) currently for folks in:
Colorado
Hawaii
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Maryland #birds peeps it's time to speak up and do our part on this issue - for birds, for #ornithology, for the state, for each other! Add your name here: abcbirds.org/JERMDneonic
Valid!!
Oh same same! Though the scaup-scaup comparison is indeed (still) tricky some times!
I’m not the only one - yessss! I did the exact thing as a kid birder. I thought they’d be such a tricky combo and I wanted to get it in the field…it’s so nice to have those tricky bird ids that you can get then and have the boost in confidence! 😉
Three main categories for superb owl ads this year - movies/tv, pharmaceuticals, and AI….not sure what all of that means exactly. Definitely an indicator of the times and all. Definitely different from all the more nostalgic and iconic ads of the past…Women gladiators anyone? Doritos anyone?
The cam for outreach and education purposes alone was great!
I appreciate the agreement on osprey though….hawk, eagle, falcon. They’re all raptors but still. So different! 🙈
YESSSSSSS
Hi. Big fans. Loving the game. Here to cheer.
But um…ya, why is a *Peregrine Falcon* being shown flying out of the tv score board? That’s one of the last “sea hawk” possible raptors out there.
Help a bird nerd out here. At least put an Osprey or an eagle (bald or golden!) or something else…
Since Life has been *waves hands at everything* I'm resharing my Short-eared Owl #SuperbOwl #BirdGlamour!
