What if you got to work with some of your best friends on a science project? I can't publish how fun this was, but I can show you the data (🧵)! Last week, we posted our second neutrophil swarming paper to bioRxiv and I wanted to post my favorite videos here~

Very cool Chad! Big fan of that objective pair...
My first post here, we have a new preprint out from @aicjanelia.bsky.social! Upright LSFM is fantastic for live imaging, but not amenable to all samples - especially those requiring an air-liquid interface. We worked with Tokai Hit to try to fix that.

So happy to have been part of this! Thanks Chad and team 🪰🪰🪰

My daughter has a capstone project (for 8th grade) on mocktails and how they have impacted drinking culture. She put together a survey for this project, if you are so inclined to take it, feel free:

All federal wind power R&D at the Department of Energy is $0.137 billion. So the government is paying 7x the amount it spends on all wind power R&D just for a fee to kill one wind project. Seems bad.
I am working so incredibly hard with other people to try and stabilize things in science and government while there are vandals tearing it all apart for selfish reasons of profit and ideological beliefs that are incompatible with healthy, safe, and informed society.
I’m exhausted.
Need to sleep.
Is ferroptosis a form of cell death?
Or is it a process that ends up in apoptosis or in lysosomal cell death?
It depends on who you ask. But we better agree on definitions, because there are clinical implications
I would love your opinion @angelifriedmann.bsky.social

These images show live embryos of animals (jellyfish, crustacean, worm, sea urchin, sea squirt, beetle) and one of animals closest single-celled relatives. They were captured taking advantage of fluorescent proteins localised on the outer membrane of cells, allowing us to observe cell outlines. 1/9
Bhattacharya, Letai & other politicals at NIH keep trying to to say all at NIH is fine, because they spent the full budget last year. This well researched article from @carolynyjohnson.bsky.social explains exactly why many scientists are still struggling. www.washingtonpost.com/science/2026...
Have fun y'all!
With some extra care and keeping the n on the lower side, the bean liquor could hit some extra amazing levels of outstanding. I do understand why you'd hit this exploration and respect the process. When infinity Ramen broth is rocking, I think it never cools down, hence the food safety protection.
This sounds reasonable when keeping n relatively low, but from a food safety perspective, I'd consider not approaching t=infinity. In the world of food safety, there are some toxins produced that are not killed by heat. I am careful, but not that careful - starting fresh provides some protection.
Experimenting with an “infinity bean broth”: save broth from cooking beans and use it to cook the next beans. I’m on the third iteration and am not optimistic about endless n+1 but it’s given me something to do when I don’t use it all. Will anyone in #beansky town warn me from the path to ruination?
I'm looking for #NewPIs (<3 years as lab heads) in the gene regulation/functional genomics space. If you are one or know one, please comment below! 🧪
