When I was a 17 y/o I had a friend who had never read a book before, so I gave him 'Tomats'.
Obviously because it's quite short it's not a daunting prospect, also the prose is easy to follow.
He absolutely loved it and he was pretty proud of himself afterwards.
"I've read Hemingway!" He said.

I'm not yet old enough to know enough about music enough.
Yet.
There's a bar in New York City which has an amazing jukebox.
I know enough.

I've got time on my side auld bean. ✌️❤️🏴
You made me ring round the family asking for my old Asterix books!
Black Gold and Soothsayer were probably my two favourites.
Also I'm sure you're chock-a-block full of ideas but I would love to hear David Copperfield/Demon Copperhead done as a 'twofer'.

Speaking of Park Asterix, and christmas specials of yesteryear...
My unreliable memory seats me exactly there in August of 1999. I was a child of 8 years old watching the solar eclipse with thin card Asterix glasses on! Thank you for reawakening a memory.
Bibliofix is your Asterix handle ✌️❤️🏴
Spotify are running ICE ads!?
Maybe you 'should' run ICE ads! Siphon some of that fat cash into hands more deserving.
I'm sure your listeners would understand. 😂
It's pretty scary though that there's effectively a masked paramilitary running around the streets in the US.
Be careful out there ✌️❤️🏴
That's beautiful. My musical relationship began through sharing mixtapes with the older sister of my friend in primary school.
We handwrote so many lyrics for each other.
Hahaha! 😂
Never used it to begin with.
Long live the mixtape! ✌️❤️🏴
Great episode. ✌️❤️🏴
Yeah I agree. Tighter than Lockjaw's t-shirts. The dialogue is especially sharp.
I feel like it could become a Christmas classic. ✌️♥️🏴
Ch18 was a great episode X I hope Luke enjoyed the gig!
It hadn't occurred to me that the (monkey) governor was a nod to Randal Flagg! I totally see it now! Looking forward to ch19 ✌️❤️🏴

Gentle and funny might be the best way to ease me in. Maybe most people.
Who is John Galt?

@penguinpress.bsky.social if you want to send us some ARCs for the new Pynchon book, we would love to do a pre-release episode about it (and we'd be forever grateful). Just a hopeful thought 😉

Thomas Haden Church's 'Jack' in Alexander Payne's 'Sideways'.
Total scoundrel. A true 'jack the lad'.
