I planned on creating a model to make reference poses to draw sprites of the enemies, but I think it may be better to actually make an enemy model and render it out as images?
If I change how the enemy looks later in development, I'd have to do a lot of redrawing with the former.

More progress.
Some basic enemies and a meathook n cleaver. Also fancy death effects.
Purpose of the meathook is to deal some extra damage and give you an invincibility period on a succesful hit. Itll have a longer cooldown later.
Purpose of the enemies is to kill you.

Got around to working on enemy vision and behavior!
It was pretty much taking what I did on #Oneirality and working it into a 3D space, but it feels more satisfying in first person.

🎧Testing out FMOD integration for above water/underwater audio differences. So far pretty happy with how it sounds.
Also working on setting up a system for objects 'splashing' as they enter or exit water. Next up is waves and particles to go with it.

I got prop interaction down similar to how Source games do it.
It even comes with prop flying!

Spent some time getting familiar with light baking and post processing in Godot today. The chunky Trenchbroom geom really helps give it all a nice Source-y vibe which I dig a ton!

That's the main reason why I'm starting 3D gamedev, to eventually make a game closer to my vision and the games that inspired it.
Even though I should let my main project rest and have a backlog of project ideas, I've worked on it for so long that I can't see myself working on anything else. (2/2)
I'm not used to openly posting thoughts, but in terms of gamedev I'm feeling lost rn. Though I'm happy with the progress of #Oneirality, I'm not feeling that satisfied with it

New progress on learning to making an FPS. Now have bullet decals and tracers. Next major step is to work on enemies.

Welp, Godot has officially passed a new milestone: GDscript, in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, officially debuted in an anime. The new anime Needy Girl Overdose shows a few lines of very clear GDscript on a computer monitor in the first episode around the 9 minute mark. (Credit: u/Quincyillpie)
