Maybe bots (AIs) and/or automatic formulas are doing the buying decisions: they want x% in US bonds. If value of US bonds declines relative to all other investments, they buy more.

Someone needs to re-think investment strategy at these organizations. I’m not sure I’d be long on US bonds RN.

But I see new typical family homes in the Vancouver and Toronto markets are still subject to the GST.

It’s hard (impossible?) to add new 3 bedroom homes of any type (high rise condo or ground) for less than $1M, even if the developer makes $0 profit.

Didn’t he really just impose additional taxes on Americans because he doesn’t like an ad?

Punishes Americans because Ontario premier Doug Ford ran an ad about Reagan in red states?

Search for information
Including the source.

For example, “find me th statistics Canada table with labour force survey data by metropolitan area. “

I don’t trust it to necessarily tell me the numbers, as it can hallucinate. But it is really fast for finding sources.

Oxycontin and other supposedly non addictive opioids became widely prescribed in that year, I would assume.

We have door to door delivery and dislike it. Just junk mail. A killed tree every week.

We have important stuff (what little we still get) sent to a PO Box already. Have for 25 years.

Not available in a lot of the US, including Seattle. Affiliate wont air it.

Anyone in Canada know if the show will air here if the closest affiliate usually on your TV is not airing it.

The Problem with Vancouver's Boundary Rd BRT (w/ @MovementYVR ) YouTube video by RMTransit

We've been campaigning to get people to fill out TransLink's survey about BRT and we're down to the last 29 hours before it closes! Many thanks to @rmtransit.bsky.social for sharing our cute little video with his 340k subscribers!!!

Exactly. It’s good for Canada. We need the young, skilled labour force. What we also need is some of this group over time to do their own start ups. It would be nice to not be sending all the profits from work done in Canada back to Silicon Valley or Seattle. But it’s better than not having it

In Trump 1.0 there was a coworking-like place in Calgary Canada set up to house people working for US tech companies who had H1B issues. Secure servers and connections to their US employer, but paid via Canada and working in Canada. I wonder if this will be a massive growth industry for Canada.

Get detained n a detention centre or El Salvador, I suspect the H1-b is basically over in all
But name.

Exactly. The airlines will have to decide. I suspect initially if you have an H1-B in your passport they will let you on. If they start having to pay for return flights for those not admitted, they will ask about the $100K.

Of course if people arriving in the US who haven’t paid the $100K ….

Not to mention the pro-stagflation stance. At least 50% of news stories should be in favour of higher prices and a shrinking economy with lower average incomes.

Risk of ending up in detention?

To avoid: fly to US via Canada if you’re from a country with automatic travel visa status for Canada. Then fly to US from Canada. You clear US immigration on Canadian soil at airport. If you are deemed inadmissible, you’re simply left in Canada.

How are airlines going to interpret this? They typically don’t want to bring someone to a country where they will not be admitted as the airline could be responsible for taking them back to originating country.

Haven’t worked from home from my attic office in a while so just getting a good look at this. Side patio or parking for sure (dual use?) and the open-to-below skylights make sense, although with the asymmetry, have me wondering.

What’s the story behind this laneway house shape? A regulatory requirement or just preference?

7 months ago 2 0 2 0

I wondered why we were seeing them. But I consider it a feature. This said, more homes on these lots would be better.
