The weeks before an RCT launches are intense, but every hour invested now lays the foundation for meaningful results ahead. A heartfelt thank you to everyone contributing to this work. 🙏

Behind the scenes, the team has been working tirelessly to finalise SOPs, log documents, protocol amendments, and the eCRF programming in secuTrial — all on track for the beginning of May.

After a thorough kick-off covering everything from data security to adverse event reporting, we reviewed the Investigator Site File (ISF) and aligned on next steps. The first practice initiates on April 28th — we couldn't be more excited.

It was wonderful to catch up with colleagues and partners from across Europe in such a beautiful location, and one with such fascinating and important history.

Big thanks to Wolfram Hermann, Farhad Rezvani, Hendrik Napierala, Nina Donner (PhD), Sonja Leissner, and the whole team for such an energising few days.

We even managed to squeeze some Green Social Prescribing in between discussions on the RCT and Qualitative workstreams!

It was wonderful to catch up with colleagues and partners from across Europe in such a beautiful location, and one with such fascinating and important history.

This week the whole SP-EU consortium gathered at Akademie Waldschlösschen for our annual meeting to discuss last year's progress and look ahead to what’s next.

The event attracted a diverse audience of academics, health professionals, and community stakeholders, underscoring the growing interest in social prescribing as a pathway toward more equitable and integrated primary care.

Both speakers explored how social prescribing and intersectoral collaboration can bridge health and social care to address vulnerability more effectively. A lively panel discussion followed, featuring researchers, local policymakers, and primary care professionals.

The event, organized by the Ghent University Department of Public Health and Primary Care - the Belgian partner in SP-EU - opened with a keynote by Prof. Wolfram Hermann (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin), followed by Prof. Hans Grymonprez (Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy, UGent).

This week SP-EU partners took part in a colloquium on vulnerability in primary care in Ghent, Belgium. It brought together 65 researchers, policymakers, and primary care professionals to discuss how health systems can better respond to poverty and social inequality.

Lina Papartyte (EuroHealthNet) proposed a reimagination of health financing and how we can increase investment into social prescribing whilst Bea Walker (NASP) gave reflections from a UK perspective and how vital international partnerships and networks are to strengthen all our work.

We heard from Marija Jakubauskienė, Lithuanian Minster for Health on the inclusion of Social Prescribing in their national strategy in 2023 and how the ministries of Culture and Health have worked jointly on implementation.

It was fantastic to connect with colleagues from across the Baltic Sea region at the Arts on Prescription conference in Vilnius last week, hosted by Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS).

Good to see a feature on German TV last week about social prescribing, focusing in particular on museums and arts on prescription. This includes interviews with Wolfram from Charité and Nick from the National Academy for Social Prescribing, who are both part of SP-EU.

Wolfram and Farhad from Charité were delighted to go on their first partner visit to @aau.dk in Denmark, where they attended a co-creation workshop with refugees. It's crucial to adapt social prescribing to the people we're trying to reach.
