Anyone interested in joining a great group, on a great topic, for an ABCT panel submission? ⬇️⬇️

This literally the only positive news on my feed right now.
This is not hyperbole! What a nightmare mess. On the plus side, the new simplified review criteria do not leave a lot of room to comment on the investigators, particularly if their background is "appropriate" to the project proposed. So maybe it will be a good exercise in less is more? 🤯
I just logged in over here to search this topic and commiserate as I'm about to toss my laptop out the window in frustration. WHY does it have to be this bad?!
Reflecting the efforts of so many - most importantly our study participants who gave their time to help others - I'm thrilled to share the results of our RCT evaluating the effectiveness of the #SafetyPlanningIntervention for #SuicidePrevention in the year after jail release.
Suicide prevention requires systemic change. Governments worldwide must:
- Decriminalise suicide
- Implement national suicide prevention strategies
- Fund accessible mental health care
Policy saves lives. Let’s demand action.

Good luck!
We tried something new this year as part of our orientation…
Feeling grateful to Brown’s Swearer Center and to all the community partners who shared their work with us! 🙏 What a great introduction to Providence for our Brown psychology residents! 😊
It is for people who have recently completed their PhD or MD in a related field of study.
Currently in the "we're so back" phase
You’re so welcome.
sigh. tired. *Get to know
I wouldn’t spend time reiterating numbers in your internship statements, but rather use the space to answer the questions to convey who you are as a person, clinician, and researcher - and to articulate your goals for training. We want to get you know who YOU are and where you’re going! Good luck. 🙂
I’m only peripherally involved in this as a PI of another T32 in our department. But I think this is broadly the focus. I’m sure you could reach out to the contact with more questions!
It's a bit off-cycle, but you never know who might be looking and when... Brown has a new T32 postdoctoral fellowship in child health equity! Applications are open now and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. More details can be found in the link below:

seriously.
Oh, I know. I’ve been PI on many NIH grants, including one that just got a non-competing award. I’m saying that it’s hard for everyone to track trends from the outside, when Reporter is behind.
It's hard to even know where to look, because we have gotten a few non-competing NOAs in the last few weeks, and none of them are appearing in the Reporter.

As a T32 PI responsible for supporting 5 fellows, I have not had a solid night's sleep in months. So I understand completely.
True, but it complicates & slows things - and is relevant across all T32s. They wouldn’t have been funded without meaningfully addressing the prior requirements, so all now have added scrutiny. As PI of an otherwise uncontroversial T32, I still had to revise our most recent RPPR for “compliance.”
The T32s are all tricky, because the language of the prior NOFOs explicitly required the awards to address “diversifying the workforce,” with explicit plans and metrics. Now that such an effort is contrary to the EOs, literally every T32 needs to be reworked, to ensure it is “in compliance.”
This also happened to Mitch Prinstein. Wild story, which he shared here 👇

A few years ago, I (w/2 other training directors) participated in an SSCP Q&A on the #ClinicalPsych internship application process. Thinking about applicants who like to use this time of year to get a head start on the process, I thought it might be another good time to share...
I’ll have to take a deeper dive and report back… I remember this meeting so well. I was in my 2nd year of grad school at CU, and we got to attend for free in exchange for volunteering to work the “check in” desk for the meeting. I was star struck! 🤩
Haha! That’s a good idea. 25th anniversary collector’s edition. 😂
Started the process of moving offices, and woah…
