Moth Night 2025: Mothing but the Best - a great article on moth night, hosted by friend and colleague Prof Sarah Jamieson whose limited term appointment was not renewed by Trent due to “budget cuts”. The article elaborates on that as well.

I find that it’s usually the case that the problem is never really determined. I’ve worked with those cells for so long it’s frustrating that they’ve given up on me

Ever thawed a vial of cells (C2C12 cells), had them attach and look just fine, but then after 1 passage they don’t attach and those that do gradually die? We can’t figure it out….tried new reagents already.

Two great in person talks at Trent yesterday: Western Prof Samantha Gateman on corrosion (including corrosion of copper intrauterine devices) and Laurier Prof Erin Leonard on a mix of projects related to carotid bodies, leptin, antidepressants and the effects on fish physiology!

A rite of passage: first cihr project grant done and results back! (Thank you to the reviewers for the helpful comments.) The RiT program certainly helped give me a sense of how things shake out but having a hard time interpreting the NOR.
